RSU - Can Scorps go above .50?
Reikland Daily

With the first leg of the RSU home stretch slated for 9am Sunday, RSU fans will be expecting no less than maximum points from the 3 game home run into the end of Season 5.

After a shock loss to the in form Confederates, key blitzer Titus Denano quashed any rumours that the Gunners might repeat the feat.
The Gunners fans have had it tough, the last squad got thrown out with the coach - what a shambles. The fans need something to believe in. It's just a pity for them that they chose to believe they could compete with us.

Tune in at 9am for the match, exclusively on FUMBBL.

Falcons eagerly awaiting conferences
by Rikard Echolsson

Following a solid performance in the touring league, where they came in once more just behind the Griffins, Antilan Erikson, Death's Head for the Falcons, has been heard boasting that they will once more strike the Stallions down.

Said Erikson, "Stallions? We stopped them when I was a rookie and fresh on the pitch. Now? I think a tie would be disappointing."

The press has reached out to the Stallions coach for comment. However, his notorious absence from actual coaching has proven that sometimes, rumours do turn out to be very true.

Geoffrey deCharney @MidKnightHour

LeBobs gets rich !! apparently the coach bet his life savings on the game vs the Tileans at 5-3 odds. He was spotted later at the stadium bar arguing over a massive tab after allegedly shouting all spectators pre-game drinks.

Three Sheets to the Wind
Marienburg Uni Free Press.. only 3 pfennig

Thursday's repeat first leg of the Home Conference run for the Clippers could make or break their season. Voices within the Executive have been heard commenting that Coach D_Arquebus had taken the 'rabble' Bulls to two Bowl games by the end of their 2nd Season, and that looks all but out of reach again for the Clippers this season. But the hope for a top finish in the Great North Road conference remains balanced on a knife's edge.

It's no secret Coach D_Arquebus has been struggling to control the glory-hound play of his players. Seeking to imprint his own control on the team and the game. It remains to be seen whether his two brutal Blitzers and his new sign late last season Meyer will continue to guide the team about the pitch and help the Clippers to a new high in recent times of actually finishing top of their home conference.

Coach D_Arquebus told this reporter that if he can get them performing for the team instead of trying for individual glory every game then the team will be well placed for a Bowl run next season and the pending graduation of many Season 4 alumni.

Debbys Does The Frostbelt Conference
Debby Demonbreeder – Sports Reporter for the Altdorf Daily

How quickly things return to normal. The Frostbelt Conference is back on struggle street where it belongs and faces the possibility of missing a bowl berth this season after it was the toughest conference in the league during Season 4.

The violent, uneducated, brutish rabble of teams in the Frostbelt will fight it out over the second half of the season, bashing each other into oblivion while the ball gets trudged around as an afterthought.

The Bulls will probably come out on front at the end of it all, mainly due to their 3 point lead heading into the leg. It's hard to say with any confidence what will happen when the Frostbelt teams play each other, but the Bulls have been relatively consistent since the re-establishment of the league. You'd expect they'll handle the Outlaws and struggling Bears, but it will probably be a coinflip with the Yhetees.

The Yhetees are experiencing the CBBA Bowl hangover. The demolition handed to them in the final round of the Touring Leg was embarrassing. They've lost Belyakov, arguably the best raw talent in the league and are now looking rather ordinary, especially without Kovalenko for their opening game - which might actually cost them.

The Bears are experiencing second season syndrome again. They've been woeful, but that's the Bears. At least Stu had them competing for a little while again there, an experience their fans should never forget as its unlikely to happen again. They're doomed to go back to mediocrity and hang down the bottom of the CBBA again.

The Outlaws are showing some promise but equally the signs of a new program. Other than the Griffins matchup, they weren't embarrassing in the Touring Leg. Unfortunately for the Outlaws, the Frostbelt Conference does like their casualties - which may see them treading water and in a similar position to begin next season.

Predictions:
Bulls - 14
Yhetees - 9
Bears - 3
Outlaws - 1

Debby Does The Food Bowl Conference
Debby Demonbreeder – Sports Reporter for the Altdorf Daily

The FBC is hitting par this season, a position these teams have been notorious for. The consistency of these teams is to be admired, but only moderately, as beyond the Stallions there's little to get too excited about.

The Stallions got revenge for their Bowl defeat last season in great style, demolishing the Yhetees. They also managed to pull off a draw against the Panthers in an exciting matchup. These are good signs for the Stallions, especially heading into an easy Conference Leg. Coach Luohghcra has the opportunity to make another Bowl here if he can sweep the Conference. Unfortunately, even if he does he will likely be overwealmed by the occassion again.

The Falcons have been sneaking through under the radar, putting together a successful Touring Leg, only losing to the CBBA heavyweights - the Griffins. Coach Wex has been going about his business quietly but successfully, getting the best out of his players. The game against the Axemen should be highly entertaining as there is now a legitimate battle for the 2nd spot in the FBC. They don't have the class of the Stallions, so they'll have to settle for the battle for second.

The Axemen are back! After a disastrous Season 4, the Touring Leg was kind with coach Suttbutt finally getting his head around the speed based offense. At this stage the roof is still fairly low for the Axemen, but at least they can be happy to compete. With a bit of luck they are a shot of upsetting the Stallions, but the real battle will be for second place.

The Cockerels have scored their touchdown for the season. Beyond that we can go back to ignoring them, except for the wonderful recipe releases.

Predictions:
Stallions - 16
Falcons - 10
Axemen - 8
Cockerels - 0

Debby Does The All Imperial Conference
Debby Demonbreeder – Sports Reporter for the Altdorf Daily

The big time! The AIC is the representative division of the CBBA comprised of the league's greatest teams. Unfortunately, recent history has continued this season with an uncharacteristic failing to dominate the Touring Leg. As usual, the Griffins were outstanding, however, the rest of the division needs to pick up its act in the future. It is expected that the teams in the AIC enter the Conference round with at least 7 points.

The Griffins are still the best team in the CBBA. 9 points, the best coach in blood bowl, no touchdowns conceded, a strong roster built on the back of Blue Chip recruits. The Griffins are on the way to the CBBA Bowl, where they belong. The Conference leg will be tough and is a limiting factor for every team in the AIC under the new structure. Even still, the Griffins are so far ahead of the rest of the league at the moment it shouldn't be a problem.

The Scorpions are underperforming. Coach Semitence has to get this storied heavyweight back on track. It's time to make a statement and prove that they can compete with the griffins and are still superior to the Gunners and Panthers. They should do this without too much of an issue.

The Gunners have been set back with the late coaching change prior to the start of the season. With a new batch of recruits and coach it will take a while for them to get going again. If they time it right they could be challenging for a Bowl in Season 7, with this batch of recruits showing early promise.

The Panthers are struggling. Patdragon needs to shake things up in Talebheim and it starts by looking beyond Barnabus and Oskar. While both are good, neither are spectacular and you can't be having just good players hogging the ball like they do. The Panthers should be targeting the Gunners with the aim of overtaking them to finish a respectable 3rd.

Predictions:
Griffins - 18
Scorpions - 15
Panthers - 4
Gunners - 3

Well the D_Arquebus "led" Clippers from our glorious F.C.U. have again turned in yet another failing grade. When reached for comment Coach D was reported to have said "Couldn't hit, couldn't dodge, couldn't tackle... should be renamed the Catch-Ups, cause they are behind almost every team in this league!". Follow up inquiries to confirm this assertion have been met with silence from the Coach's office.

In comparison the GNR great smelly hope seems to be in the form of the 'Elfs in Wolf's Clothing' from Middenland. These young men- err women- err 'players' from Middenland seem destined to Block and Dodge their way to another Bowl game. Not much wrong can be said against them, except for Elfy gits they certainly could do with some lady scapi- err men scapin- err 'personal grooming' like those lovely lasses from the cross town team the Harlequins.

Hank McMan @GunnersHQ

Coach Geoffro was overheard at a local Gunners bar. Talks can report the new coach felt reasonable with his teams efforts against the Scorpions. " A 2-0 loss to the RSU in our first season is acceptable. Especially with Winger Nick Fairley putting out 2 scorpions for the next game. If we stay in good shape against the Griffins we can have a good shot at the Panthers"

FEDS, FANS, EDGE EAGLES

NBC News ~ Your #1 source for Northern Border Confederates news

The Northern Border Confederates continued their stunning run of mid-season form, upsetting (another) CBBA heavyweight in the ALU Great Eagles 3-2 in Myrmidens to take their win streak to thee games, while putting the rest of the CBBA on notice that the Feds are indeed for real.

Jesco Kant delivered another 7 fouls, taking his season total to 21; blitzer Einar Barstad recorded 3 game-changing casualties, and the irrepressible Carlito Gomez scored another game winning touchdown as time expired to hand victory, and vengeance, to the Feds.

The Great Eagles were impressive in defeat, coming back from a 2-touchdown deficit to tie the score in the games waning moments, only to see a pitch invasion by boisterous Feds fans seize momentum back from the visitors and hand the home team a historic victory.

Next up for the Feds is a visit from their Southern cousins, the Diavoli, who the Feds dispatched 1-0 in a close encounter in Tilea last season.
