So my java is still broken, and if someone with a working client wants to jump in and take my spot, they are welcome to it.

The solution is to clear your java cache and then spectate a game before playing according to Christer, it worked for balle2000 last night.

In any case, we might be looking for a player. If you're interested reserve your team here. If you find that there are no teams left that appeal to you, send me a PM and we might be able to work something out.

I'm off for a while but will be back tonight to see where we stand and get ready to kick this thing off Smile

The Athel Loren University Great Eagles are up and ready to go.

Unfortunately the university has gone through a re brand (as they are want to do) and therefore the old team logo has been trashed.

Check them out

CBBA Preview – Pre Season Power Rankings and a Team By Team Breakdown
Debby Demonbreeder – Sports Reporter for the Altdorf Daily

Well we’re finally ready for kickoff. The new look CBBA. The talk of the Empire… and now the rest of the world. Fans everywhere are getting ready to see the touchdown bonanza start and here at the Imperial Informer so are we. We will be your number one source of all CBBA news, all season long, guaranteed.

First up with have our expert analysis on a team by team breakdown and season preview.

1st – Royal Altdorf University Griffins
Image
The Griffins will be the team everyone else is measured against. They will also be the team everyone wants to beat, but they’re used to that. The Griffins are likely to continue their proud tradition at the pinnacle of the CBBA.
Board Expectations
The Griffins always have high expectations. The Griffins will be expected to win the CBBA Bowl and finish in the top position at the end of the season. An undefeated season would be the only way to exceed these expectations. A secondary goal would be to defeat the Scorpions.

2nd – Reikland State Scorpions
Image
One thing is for sure, the Scorpions will be in the title hunt this season. There is no reason why their proud tradition of finishing in the top 2 and often with a title can’t continue.
Board Expectations
Like the Griffins, the Scorpions board has high expectations of their team. The Scorpions will be expected to make the bowl game. If they can win the title, that would be excellent. A victory over the Griffins would also be a great achievement.

3rd – Nuln City Gunners
Image
Gunners’ fans are excited about the prospects of the new look CBBA. There are a few hoping that the elves might just shake things up enough for them to finish above the teams from Altdorf. Unfortunately, this also puts a lot of pressure on the Gunners themselves to stay amongst the top. If they finish below the Phoenix and the teams from Altdorf do not, Nuln will once again be embarrassed and the season will be a failure. Realistically, the Gunners should finish at the top of the rankings and be in contention for another bowl game coming into the final rounds.
Board Expectations
The board expects Daudy to keep the Gunners in the title hunt for the entire season and finish no lower than 4th. The Fans will be hoping to see the Gunners defeat a team from Altdorf, as is always their first wish coming into a season. Making the bowl game would be seen as an excellent result.

4th – Ulthuan State Phoenix
Image
The most prestigious University from outside the Empire should finish amongst the top end of the table. History shows that the Phoenix are the best non-Imperial team, the question will be where the elven teams sit in the new look competition. If they fare well, the Phoenix could challenge for a title, if they flop – who knows where they’ll end up. Many insiders are saying that they should be ranked at the top alongside the Scorpions and Griffins. It’s up to them to prove it.
Board Expectations
A lot rests on coach Tyra_Nid to achieve a strong result from the Phoenix as they are the standard at which the merger between the leagues will be judged. If they can compete with the big teams from the Empire, the merger will be a success, if they can’t – there will be talk of sending the Elves back to Ulthuan to stop wasting people’s time. The board expects the Phoenix to finish in the top 4 but ideally would like to see them prove a point and make it to the Bowl game. The secondary objective is to finish above the other Elven teams.

5th – FCU Crusaders
Image
The Crusaders are always hyped pre-season, only to disappoint. Coming into the season, there’s always a lot of talk surrounding their training facilities and the financial ability to hold a large roster. One day it will click and they’ll win that third title, but things just got harder with more teams thrown into the fray. We’re predicting a top 5 result – if the team can work together at stages through the season. As always with the Crusaders, they have no excuses not to be in the title picture but could also slide to the lower half of the table if a few personalities clash.
Board Expectations
Their coaches constantly disappoint the FCU board, can Dunenzed be the man to turn around their fortunes? The FCU will be expecting to finish in the title hunt and would like a top 4 spot and a bowl game. However, the team’s ultimate goal will be defeat all other Imperial opponents they encounter during the touring leg of the season. Although an unlikely achievement if they take on a school from Altdorf or Nuln, it would make the season one to remember in the Free City.

6th – Talebeim Panthers
Image
Ahh the Panthers, everyone has a soft spot for them. They will most likely struggle again to match the might of the big guns this season but will appreciate the opportunity to show their talent during the touring stage of the season. The trouble will come with the inter-conference games at the end of the season, where they are likely to struggle as a definite 4th in the big 4. If they pull off an upset and a draw during the inter-conference games, they could sneak high up in the rankings.
Board Expectations
Talebheim University will be expecting Balle2000 to capitalise on the touring portion at the start of the season and will want to finish with at least 2 wins from the first 3 games. The board would be happy with a draw against any of the top 3 but would be ecstatic with a victory to please the fans.

7th – Averheim University Stallions
Image
No one ever looks forward to playing the Stallions. Consistent is the best way to describe the team from Averheim who make the most of their resources to constantly remain competitive. Let’s be realistic, they will most likely end up sitting just below the top Universities come the end of the season but if they can manage to find some talent for hitting the elves that are running around, they might find themselves amongst the top spots looking for a bowl game.
Board Expectations
First and foremost, the Stallions must maintain their proud history of not finishing a season with a losing record. DrPoods simply must win more than he loses. Being the highest ranked team in their conference, the Stallions should make a bowl game this season, which would be considered a huge success.

8th – University of Chrace Pride
Image
The Pride are likely to struggle against the well resourced schools of the Empire and we know they will struggle against the Phoenix. However, they should manage some blowout victories over the lesser teams in the competition, given their knack for speed. That likely places them in the middle of the road, somewhere above the other elven teams but still out of reach of a bowl game.
Board Expectations
The primary objective for the season will be to defeat the Dragons and finish above them on the table. The board would also like to see their team finish ranked in the top half of the league at the end of the season. In the unlikely event they finish above the Phoenix, all of Chrace will be ecstatic.

9th – Caledor Great Dragons
Image
It was hard to split the Great Dragons from the Pride in the power rankings given the history of the elven league. It is likely that the two teams will be split based on a matchup against each other. The Great Dragons are likely to challenge some of the top teams and are capable of an upset but won’t be able to blow out the lower ranked teams with the ease of the Pride.
Board Expectations
As always the number one goal for the Great Dragons will be to defeat the Pride.
A suitable goal for the season will also be to force an upset against a higher ranked opponent, to show that Caledor can compete with the best. An exceptional season would see the Great Dragons finish above the two other High Elf teams.

10th – Norscan Peninsula Buccaneers
Image
Even though the NPU is capable of putting together a team that can challenge for the CBBA bowl, they can just as easily disappoint. Much like the divisional rivals from Marienburg, its hard to know what to expect from them heading into the season. One thing that we do know about the Buccaneers is that they rarely have a truly terrible season and are never a team an opponent looks forward to playing. They’ll finish in the middle rankings and probably a comfortable 2nd in their weak conference.
Board Expectations
The Buccaneers’ board would like to see the team finish with a positive record and within the top 2 highest ranked schools from their conference. A victory over the FCU and the opportunity to play in a bowl game is not out of reach, and would be a fantastic result.

11th – Athel Loren Great Eagles
Image
No one knew where to place the Eagles. Being new to competition at this level, it’s hard to know exactly what to expect out of them. Some are predicting them to gracefully defeat everyone they play. A more realistic view however is that they will suffer with their fragility and lack of experience. Like the Pride, their speed should allow them to run up some scorelines against lower opponents, it’s just hard to know who those will be.
Board Expectations
The main goal of the ALU is to see the team perform well on offense. Insiders say that the board has set a target of scoring 2 touchdowns in every game this season. Realistically a good season would see the Eagles finish ranked in the middle in their first outing at this level. Anything higher would be seen as a great success.

12th – BVU Anvils
Image
The Anvils have nothing to lose coming into the CBBA. Unlike some of the other universities, the Anvils do benefit from the experience of playing schools from the Empire, albeit in friendly matches. They will struggle with the speed of the elves, but should be able to hand out some punishment and maybe push for some late game wins. Its likely they’ll end up in the bottom third of the table somewhere when its all said and done.
Board Expectations
Coach Megrim will enjoy that the BVU have fairly low expectations this season.
The school will just want to see where it sits amongst the others. One thing that they will be looking to avoid however - is getting embarrassed by finishing last or letting an elf team beat them by more than 3 touchdowns. Finishing at the top half of the rankings would be very exciting for Anvils fans.

13th – Middenheim City College Harlequins
Image
We’ve started to lose faith in the Harlequins and have chosen not to make a bold prediction of them finishing in the running this season. That being said, the Harlequins may relish the injection of more elven kind into their schedule. It may allow them to get through the season without too many injuries. If this is the case, the sky is the limit for the MCC. Unfortunately, a more likely situation will see the Harlequins show glimpses of brilliance from developing stars before being crushed by injuries.
Board Expectations
The MCC have become used to disappointing results season after season. They will still expect the team to finish above last position. If the team can enjoy a good run without injuries, Mathfuric will be expected to capitalise on this and finish around the middle of the table. If the team can defeat a serious title contender at some stage of the season, that would be a strong result.

14th – Urslo University Bears
Image
As always, beware the bear! No team has made such a habit of ruining other team’s seasons. Unfortunately for the Bears, they will struggle again with the lack of funding and facilities needed to challenge for a title. Their best chance might be to squeeze in a victory over the wood elves and get lucky with some good matchups during the touring phase to finish above the bottom 3.
Board Expectations
The Bears are aware that their lack of resources makes it hard for them to compete with other, more fortunate schools. Still, the Bears would like to see the team win a match during the season. If they can manage to make that victory against the other Norscan team, that would be a huge result in Urslo.

15th – Wolfenburg Bulls
Image
Once again the Bulls won’t be anywhere in the title hunt. They should manage to get that obligatory victory over the Cockerels but will spend the rest of the season forgetting about the ball and just trying to hurt their opponents.
Board Expectations
The board will be hoping that the Bulls can excite their fans and deal out the damage, they simply must finish with a positive casualty differential. If the Bulls can inflict a RIP or significant SI on a positional player from the opposition, this would be very exciting. Oh and if they finish above last that’d be good, but whatever, just make sure they hurt people.

16th – Mootland Fighting Cockerels
Image
As to be expected, the Fighting Cocks are last in the power rankings. No one expects to see any level of competition out of the little fellas, not even the fans. Either way, there will be plenty of parties in the Moot as they cheer on their team.
Board Expectations
None. Seriously. The board would like to see their team score a touchdown, but if that can’t be managed, they understand. If the team can manage a draw, expect things to get really crazy!

CBBA Draw Released
Debby Demonbreeder – Sports Reporter for the Altdorf Daily

In a drama packed press conference the CBBA has just announced the schedule for the touring portion of the season. Adding drama to the announcement was the last minute replacement of the BVU Anvils with the Stirland Provence Axemen.

The inclusion of the Axemen has forced a reshuffle of the conferences, pushing the Wood Elves into the same conference as their high elf cousins. While the axemen are taking some time to prepare their staff and team for the season ahead, Stallions fans are excited to see their rivals back in the league.

Of the touring leg, Group C is being called the “group of death” with 3 top schools taking part along with the heavy hitters from Wolfenburg. Meanwhile, the Pride, Scorpions and Bears will be happy to have drawn the fighting cockerels from Mootland. The matchup of the round will certainly be the Crusaders and Panthers as the latter seeks to defend the honour of the Empire against the Free City keen to prove its point. Group B also features some juicy matchups, with the Griffins challenged immediately by a team from Ulthuan.

"What happened to the Anvils? Screamed the Averland papers today as their draw became a little more interesting. Nice to see Stirland back in the big time, but it creates headaches for the coaching staff who had spent time drawing up plans for the plodding, tackle heavy BVU."
