Heya,

once in a while, a really interesting skill choice comes up, that I want to share with you:

This guy playing on this team has skilled up and rolled 5+5, the most interesting combination.

So I`m looking for opinions, what to give this 6439 block, tackle, sure hands player.

My thoughts:
+MA - really good on orcish blitzer. He carries the ball quite often, so even better.
Dodge - that guy is my main ball carrier against elves (thus surehands to cancel stripball). ST4 blodge surehands is a nightmare for elves, as it negates leap/stripball.
Frenzy - MA6 ST4 frenzy is awesome. But I like it better on non-tacklers.
SF/SS - always nice to have... but I`m not really conviced.

movement!

always great on orc blitzers, and definatly on a player with that skillset.

def go for movement, at least on another double he could get dodge, might not get another stat increase

that's a really interesting dude... +ma would so suit him... but I dunno.... If I want to produce an uber ballcarrier, I rather stick with Blodge then with that so helpfull lil more speed.

Tough one Circular!

I’m normally not a great fan of dodge if you do not have a lot of them. But since he is ST4 non-bashy teams might struggle to get him down. And as you said he would be a terrific ballcarrier against stripp-ball leapers.

Since he has no +AG or guard yet SF and side step lose a bit of their value imho.

Having at least one frenzy guy would be really sweet but I’m not sure you should give it to this one. He has tackle already and without SF/SS and only MA6 it might be hard to get him away from the sidelines after a push.

Since it is a ranked team and team strength cost isn’t necessarily an issue (as it would be in the Box) I think I would go on the +MA for him. The +MA would combine well with his +ST and tackle as a central defender that will easily get 3db’s against fast cather types. In offense his +ST and sure hands will combine well with the +MA to make him a primary ball carrier.

Curious as to what other ppl may think though.

Two options:

1. Dodge - Your point about an elf-proof ball carrier seems dead-on.

2. MA - Both for getting to your blitz targets and for improved ball carrying.

I would go with option 1.

Movement 7 is great, but one extra movement on a team of mv 5/6 isn't that much impact. Now dodge on the other hand makes him a much harder person to knock down. Defensively he would be brilliant. Skills down the line have better potential then. Should you roll an 11 you can get +ag for instance which enhances dodge. Not much enhances movement for a player like this.

You know blodging orcs are the way forward. Do it!

I would go dodge, following your reasoning.

Mv so that he can chase down stuff and tackle it. And then pickup the ball Smile

Seems most ppl at least agree that the two real choices are +MV and dodge...
