I know that not everyone celebrates Christmas, and those of us who do can do it very differently but, in my attempt to abuse this site's world-wide nature to learn something.....
The current snow fall here should bring us happily over the half-metre mark in most places, and I can't imagine Christmas without the white stuff. What's it like where you are? |

Ah, we're going to my mothers' and I expect the surroundings to be filled with snow, as it is in the middle of Finland it it usually is very cold there. On the other hand, I voted "if I'm lucky", because you never know with these unstable winters. |

Here in Italy where I live the snow falls no more than 3/4 times a year. I live in plain, tho.
But no, I won't have a white Christmas... just a cold one |

I'm guessing, Jan, that snow doesn't stay even when it does fall, then? You say cold, but I don't hink you mean our -20 to -30C, correct? |

Cold is -3c here where I live. There are places at -20 too (the Alpes) but in Bologna if you reach -7 / -8 it is exceptionally cold.
And snow stays if it comes for 1/2 days... otherwise it just leaves very soon. |

ah, it really is a pain in the neck to be outside at -45 celcius! It's hard to breathe even.
Not that it would have happened every year, only once or twice in my life. |

This year we won't get a white christmas. I experienced a -20°C day last year in April in Ottawa. Temperatures like that are the only real downside to Canada (imho, ymmv). |

I'm going to Norway for the holidays, about 200 miles north of Oslo, so snow should be abundant. Back here in Denmark I'd say chances are slim. it usually doesn't start to snow untill sometime in January.
So to all of you snowless people, I wish you a merry christmas, and i'll be thinking of you when I'm skiing down a gorgeous snowcovered mountainside |

Not in my city. But I can remember a snowy Christmas 7 or 8 years ago. It was beautifull! |
