can anyone of you recommend some good funk music? im looking for something like red hot chili peppers or some newer stuff alike james brown.
any other suggestions are appreciated too.

Parliament Funkadelic is a must of course. All albums between 1973 and 1977 with Bootsy Collins on bass.

Herbie Hancock - or rather Herbie Hancock and the Headhunters. This is what funk is all about

Mike Stern has made some pretty funky tunes as well.

Marceo Parker is doing some funky stuff at the moment.

Dave Mathews Band has a few funky pieces shuffled in between the rest of their stuff.

Alot of other good people out there but you can probably find their names elsewhere.

PS:

I'd only categorize Red Hot Chilipeppers early stuff as really funky - the new stuff doesn't really have the bite of their early works.
