First result of the season is in.
Apuccini Avalanches 1 - 0 Lagoon Of Tears (Concession)
A good start to the league for the Orcs, who won both their pre-season matches as well, but not quite in the way they'd have wanted to. |

Congratulations! Haven't seen the replay yet, but looks like a pretty weak concession from the match report... |

Me and one of the guys spectating were certainly under the impression that the game wasn't beyond him. The match certainly wasn't kind to him, though. |

Rats fold like a cheap lawnchair - film, at 11.
1 RIP & another MNG, but it looks like* only 1 due to bad luck, not a particularly bashy opponent (5 Block, 4x St4 w/ no skill, 1 BG), so no real expectation of more of the same. The Rats were the one w/ the POMBer. Dubious.
(Can't rewatch the game, keeps locking up during load)
AV 7 can break during any game, you can't just concede every time it does, much less just starts to!
Doesn't the League have a rule against this? |

I think it was more the second half Blitz and ball scatter result that did it. |

The reigning champs are taking the field against the only team to deny them a win in the last season, friday at 23bbtime. Be there! |

We'll bring our rocks.

Having one's will broken is not the same as having one's team broken.
A formal Concession is unfair to all others in the League, and, when done without good cause (i.e. when your team is not in real danger of being crippled) is a bad precedent.
It also only hurts that team in the long run, gaining no spp or cash to replace the few players it did lose, and handing all that over to make that opponent that much stronger.
A Coach can't control a little bad luck. They can control quitting when a little bad luck comes their way.
(edit - changed generic "you", not referring to TT) |

I can't control when someone else concedes, nor am I defending him...
I'd have quite liked the extra SPPs from scoring and maybe the odd casualty for the remaining turns. |

I wasn't referring to "you", TT - I had meant the "generic you". You know, you mess with the bull, you get the horns - that type of "you". (Edited above to make that clear.)
But, yeah, you (@ TT this time) also got cheated. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth all around. |

Conceding a league game is ridiculous.
How would this work is there is a tie break at the end of the season? TT has potentially been robbed of TDs and CAS. |

No potentially about it, I was about to go 2-0 up. |

Some leagues count a forfeit (and this might well be considered as such) as a 2-0 win.
But yeah - whole can of worms. |

The Gotland Gorers have raced to the top of the Bretonnia Conference with their first win in the big boys' league.
Their dark elf opponents forgot to bring their armour, and the Gorers barely made use of the dirty tricks they had planned - it was a classic 2-1: grind out the first half, scoring at the end, then force a quick score in the second half before running it in to make it 2-1.
We can't deny we got lucky, though; and it may prove a mixed blessing, as the Gorers might now have to face some of the super developed teams in the division. |
