Gamespot claims it is a note-perfect recreation. Though how they would kow that is a mystery.
"Blood Bowl 2 is a note-perfect recreation of a Games Workshop tabletop American Football game set in the Warhammer Fantasy Battle universe." |

The review is positive though they do mention you can't skip cutscenes of every block, so that will put off some fumblers. |

You can set cinematics to either "everything", "touchdowns only", or "off." Just put it to touchdowns only. There unfortunately isn't a "touchdowns, injuries, and long passes, only" |

Probably Cyanide told them that when they paid them. |

Yeah. I quit going to Gamespot years ago after the 'Kane and Lynch' debacle. They can't be trusted at all. IGN is worthless, too. |

it's about what you'd expect, if you have any experience with the first Cyanide outing...
i've been having fun with it, but FUMBBL is still vastly superior in every way |

Here's a quick review of the game: Don't get it right now. Wait a bit.
If you're played Blood Bowl 1, you'll notice some immediate and obvious problems with the game. No tacklezone presentation, no names/numbers/or positions over players, anemic league customization, unwanted and still unexplained rules changes that don't appear to be optional in said leagues, and the preorder bonuses (lizardmen and wood elves) aren't even available yet. They haven't actually announced the pricing for the teams DLC. People had to dig into the Xbox One marketplace to find out that it's going to be £5/$7 per team.
Beyond that, the current state of the main public league is awful. Coaches are consistently conceding before the end of the first half because there isn't meaningful penalty for a perpetual league setting. At the same time, there either aren't enough players in the pool or Cyanide's matchmaking system isn't functioning as expected (it's by Team value again) because people are regularly being matched against teams with a 150+ TV advantage.
The game clearly has potential to be a good adaptation, but it isn't there yet. I'm not going to give them my money, but I'm going to keep giving them chances to impress me. |

Seems like a pretty typical "wait 1-2 years to get the Complete Edition for 60% off on Steam" kind of deal. The game looks nice, but I can't really imagine myself playing for Bloodbowl HD with most of the teams missing unless there was a preponderance of new supporting features or a significantly more active community. |

i've enever played them. just read IGN's review was good for a giggle. apparently the chaos roster is "unfinished" as it doesn't have throwing and catching specialists. |

As long as they keep the servers up for the old versions, I dont see any chance that BB2 will be the go to client for graphical play. Just too incomplete, and what is there is lacking. |

On one hand most of the established Cyanide leagues are sticking with BB1 for the time being, on the other it's logging a few thousand players even during offpeak hours and has a lot of fresh blood, so it'll be a wait and see to see what happens with the Cyanide leagues as they have to chose between all the teams and where the fresh blood for leagues actually is.
The Solo Campaign is painful for people who actually know how to play, but is invaluable for new players as it carefully and slowly explains all of the complex points of BloodBowl while assuming the person going in knows nothing, which is something that was sorely needed.
That said, as with the last one I'll be doing FUMBBL for leagues, BB2 for MM, as I can never get MM matches here at the hours I play. Just spinspinspin the gamefinder or worse BlackBox gives me nothing.
That said sources tell me the prognosis of the console port is.. predictable. The PC version has 18,000 teams registered for the public ladder (350ish for the Veteran Ladder that needs a reward coin buyin, the coins being confirmed as a thing to buy extra cosmetic doodads with like uniforms). The Xbox version, granted without the 2 week head start, has barely 800 teams registered.
To put that in perspective, the #2-5 leagues which are open moderated MM leagues, have 3200, 1351, 725, and 276 teams respectively. So the xbox isn't even a 4th tier pc league comapred.
The thing I feel will push new players towards the less complete BB2 instead of BB1 however is CE is still $30, which is a hard ask for a game with a uncertain future and that doesn't have any support.
GW also seems intent on pushing all their other game adaptions, as it seems every licensed game now has a button in the pause menu that takes you to a listing of their other adaptions like Space Hulk, Mordheim, Warhammer TW, etc.
One last anecdote. I have a friend who wanted to save money, and found a site selling BB2 keys for only $5, so of course, like an idiot he jumped on it. Jury's still out on if his CC info is safe, but know why the key was $5? It was the Russian Bloc region locked version. All his text is in cryllic and he can't change it now. |

If anyone can tell me - the AI was supposed to be "scriptable" - what does that mean in practice? |
