NCBB All-Time Leaders
With Season 33 underway, let's have a look on the All-Time Leaderboards in NCBB. Of course there is not much undiscovered land left to leave your footprints on after 32 seasons. But still, some hopeful college players find ways to storm the ranks of the unforgotten.
The following is a breakdown of what can be found under NCBB Individual Records:
All Quiet on the Western Front and in the categories "Most Blocks Thrown", "Most Turns Played", "Most Touchdowns Scored" and "Most Interceptions Caught".
Most Blocks Thrown is topped by Kyle "Hammer" Gronski, a season 17 graduate, with 386 blocks. Follow up we find Lamar Blount, a season 31 graduate and two-time NCBB championship winner from Duke with 368 blocks. To make the list, you gotta beat Who gives a D*amn, former Tomb Guardian from the lately reopened Navy program.
Most Touchdowns is lead rather unchallenged by Binjimen Victor out of Bro-hio State with the huge number of 59 touchdowns in 357 played turns. The closest contender, Russl Wilsn "only" sports 39 TD's. Any college player looking for some personal fame enters the club by beating 29 career touchdowns, but by doing so he would be allowed to directly claim the 8th spot.
Most Blocks Thrown has some players from the notorious and now defunct Rolla program in the Top10, but all these players get topped by the aforementioned Lamar Blount (698 turns played). Beating 615 turns will grant you a spot among the most durable NCBB players of all time... at least for the time being.
The last category that didn't see any new entries or movement among its listed players is Most Interceptions Caught. There has been a well-gifted player to storm these ranks, but TCU's Niko Small sadly died in Season 31 while he was just starting off his run for the crown. But with the Oooklahoma Flingers, there is a whole new program destined to leave its mark in this category.
Let's move on to the categories that saw some updates with Season 32, namely "Most Cas Caused", "Most Fouls Commited, "Most Passed Yards", "Most Completions Thrown", "Most Rushed Yards" and "Most SPP earned.
Most Cas Caused sees a new face in Howlson Tigers' lately graduated Werewolf Marc Brown. He caused 38 casualties out of 292 blocks which is worth rank 5. Leader in this category is once more Kyle "Hammer" Gronski of Fresno State with 65 casualties. Only slightly more than half that much (35 cas) is needed to make the list.
Most Fouls Commited almost had a new All-Time leader with quality Zombie Tye Smith of the Howlson Tigers and his 62 fouls. In the end he runs short two fouls before graduating, coming in second behind another Zombie, Rueben Robinson out of Oregon State. This category is rather tight with only 11 career fouls serperating the top spot from rank 10, the entry point for all newcomers with 53 fouls.
Most Passed Yards has a lot of activity with three players climbing up the ranks. Season 32 senior Dwayne Haskins of the Bro-hio State Buckeyes made it the highest of these three with 336 passing yards for 2nd, but still 71 yards short on all-time passing leader Cole Brownholtz of the Hawaii Warrielfs. Then we have two Season 32 juniors that landed on rank 5 (Jack Devlin of the Oregon Waterfoul, 215 passing yards) and rank 9 (Shawn Robinson of the TCU Horned Rats, 177 passing yards), but still have another season to climb even higher before they graduate. Any players currently not on the list need to bring 170 passing yards (looking at the latest Hawaii program here),
Most Completions Thrown looks rather similar, with Dwayne Haskins again on 2 with 63 completions behind the Hawaiian Cole Brownholtz with 71 completions. Shawn Robinson is suited a bit lower (7th rank, 47 completions) but has another season to overtake the aforementioned.
Most Rushed Yards' only change is Chad Scott, a Ghoul Runner out of Howlson, who climbes up the ranks up to 4th with 835 rushing yards. The all-time leader in this category is Lee of Mz State with 875 rushing yards. Only 636 yards rushed need to be achieved to make it to the list.
Finally, we even see a new entry on the Most SPP Earned list. Sewo Olonilua collected 122 SPP so far and sits on rank 6. Chad Scott (Howlson Tigers) even made it shared 4th with 130 SPP. Top achievers with both 179 SPP are Binjimen Victor out of Bro-hio State and Kyle "Hammer" Gronski out of Fresno State. |

Official-Unofficial BCS Rankings (Week 1)*
1. TCU Horned Rats (1-0-0)
2. U of Wisconsin Rat-Grrrrs (2-0-0)
3. Oregon Waterfoul (2-0-0)
4. U-Dub Elfskies (1-0-0)
5. Miami BallHawks (1-1-0)
6. California Golden Lizards (1-0-0)
7. UC San Dogo Krytens (2-0-0)
8. SMU Mousestangs (1-1-0)
9. Colgate Ultra-Brets (1-0-0)
10. Um, G'olden Go For Its! (1-1-0)
*(As of 10/10)
Notes and Observations:
- #1 TCU, the defending champs, started off strong with a beatdown of a promising Berea team; can anyone figure out the rats this season?
- #4 UDub and #6 Cal face off this week with major Big Beast conference implications on the line; will the lizards be able to force a grind-it-out game?
- #5 Miami, the runner-ups last year, took a blow in the opener when stud junior Drakensberg Fields met his demise; can the frogs adapt without him?
- Duke (0-0-2) has dropped two tough games so far, to Wisconsin then Miami, but is good enough to still make noise this season; will there be enough chaos in this brutal conference to let them back in the race?
- The G'olden Go For Its (1-1-0) sit just inside the top 10 after returning to the NCBB after taking a season off; beating Khemri in a 1-0 slog then tying rats 3-3 shows the potential flexibility needed to be a solid program for some time.
- Shout-out to stud ape Rocky Calmus for almost pulling off a 'Larson' in the season-opening loss (ie: at least 1 completion, TD, INT, and CAS in the same game). An in-game interview suggested that Mr Calmus is committed to staying in school to finish his degree after season 34; it remains to be seen if NBFL agents can try to convince the junior prospect to leave early.
- Due to being on week 3 already, a huge matchup between #2 Wisconsin (2-0-0) and #3 Oregon (2-0-0) is open for scheduling. Will the senior rats be able to prove themselves against the marque NCBB program? Or will the Waterfoul win yet another big game?
- The Non-AQ has one true unbeaten team left, the Texas AM Aggros (2-0-0). Two more teams sit at 1-1-0, and the final week two game could give us another. Nice work playing ahead everyone. |

Joe Person would like a word about some of those stats
He finished his NCBB career with 936 blocks, and 181 SPP. He also caused 62 casualties in his career which I think would put him 2nd in that category
Someone has to keep the olde-tyme records straight! |

Dear Mr. Aenir, coach of the famous Navy Midskeletonmen,
thank you for your hints about Joe Person, a true NCBB legend (they say, he even was the first ever... so to say the grand-daddy of Herger, Gronski and all that followed his example).
Sadly, I have to tell you that his ancient achievements happened before the invention of the lettre press. Additionally it seems as if all the pergament rolls documenting his brave efforts got lost in a library fire back in the days when Pompeii was still a thing.
But there is hope: If you could lead us to one of the prehistoric places with cave paintings of his best plays, we could consider to have him listed in a special section of our Hall of Fame.
Sincerly yours,
Ratman John

(Or I could have just said: Sorry, seems your guy played prior to season 5, which explains why he isn't listed among the NCBB G.O.A.T.sessesss... the script can only be applied to the seasons played within the NCBB League Group era ). |

Official-Unofficial BCS Rankings (Week 4)*
*as of 10/26*
1. Oregon Waterfoul (3-1-0, FBC)
2. Miami BallHawks (2-1-0, FBC)
3. TCU Horned Rats (1-1-0, SCC)
4. California Golden Lizards (2-2-0, Beast)
5. U of Wisconsin Rat-Grrrrs (2-0-1, FBC)
6. Um, G'olden Go For Its! (2-1-0, Smack)
7. Poli Puerkos (2-0-0, AKC)
8. UC San Dogo Krytens (2-0-0, AKC)
9. U-Dub Elfskies (1-2-0, Beast)
10. Colgate Ultra-Brets (1-2-0, Beast)
Notes and Observations
-Despite being outblocked by 3x, Cal clung to a 1-0 lead over UTEP with one turn to go. However, the Minors pulled off a desperation pass and tied the game, leaving the lizards at 2-2-0. This leaves the Big Beast conference up for grabs still, as several teams could finish with three wins.
-Oregon survived a 'trap game' against Duke by tieing 2-2; this was on the heels of a big televised win over Wisconsin last round, and with the potentially huge game against Miami coming up next. If the slann take care of business against the rats, then Oregon v Miami will be for the conference title.
-We have little to no clarity in the SCC, as everyone has missed at least one game. However, this week's match between rivals Karak (1-1-0) and TCU (1-1-0) could be the key, and it certainly has to be closer than last year's game.
-The AKC could be decided this week when #7 Poli (2-0-0) and #8 UC San Dogo (2-0-0) take the field. The two teams have combined to allow one touchdown so far, so expect yet another slug-fest.
-The SMACK conference is about as even as you can get through three weeks: only one team has more than one win, yet only one team has more than one loss. Indeed, three teams have split their games 1-1-1 so far. The #6 Golden Go For Its (2-1-0) are ahead of the pack so far, fueled by their impressive 13:3 CAS ratio.
-The Non-AQ moves right along, as all the young programs seek to build themselves up for their glorious promotion to the big leagues starting next season. So far, the Ottawa Bee-Bees have distinguished themselves with a 3-1-0 record. But three more teams have two wins of their own, and there is a lot of bloodbowl left to be played. |
