They might have brought back levels of bashing skills too. It appears that both Mighty Blow and Dirty Player have a +1. So maybe you can take it a 2nd time and get +2?

It would only be ruined for people who insist on staying "official".
For others, it could mean more options, more variety, and more granularity.
Maybe more scope for better balance. |

Where do you think it is unbalanced right now beyond some races being obviously better than others? |

Here’s the best info I’ve found so far, if you don’t mind wasting an hour: https://youtu.be/_4eK55dmLsk
Ps. I’m quite excited for any potential change. Mix things up a bit. Go for it! I didn’t buy bb2016. I’ll definitely be buying this one |

From what I read they split the agility characteristic in two. So you have passing ability and agility ability. As you can see a gutter runner that could throw the ball at 2+ and dodge out at 2+ now throws at 4+ and dodges at 2+. I think they will try to make specialist players that much more specialized. Maybe there will be a rework of the skills someone will able to choose. |

There’s no info on it yet, but I can tell just from the name that the ‘Prayers to Nuffle’ table will be my new favourite thing |

passing? that's so 1990s!
with running pass, can you throw to an empty square, dodge through, and catch it yourself? now that would be the best. |

I can see the need at times over the years to refine certain aspects of the game ie change or modification of the rule for example Pile On
So not sure if this is a radical overhaul (again) but why do the plebs in GW want to reinvent the wheel again and again and again |

I do think this is one of the most interesting possibilities for how this edition might meaningfully change the way the game is played (as opposed to many other things revealed today which maybe just change the meta).
My first reaction when people said 'passing is back/will be more popular' was 'why?' This game is still 16 turns and the most important skill is not scoring TD's, or even defending them, but game management, i.e. when you score, or when you force your opponent to do so. If it's easier and safer to manage the game with some kind of rolling cage or screens and make my 8 turn score that will be the most popular path to victory.
But thinking about your post, perhaps it will become the case that instead of grinding down the field, the most effective way to manage the game and score will be to play a little deeper, at midfield, or in your own half and then lob a pass. That would make a very different game, especially if we imagine how that would change defensive approaches or perhaps stretch the field.
The thing that makes me doubt this is that it seems movement values have stayed the same and there are no new protection skills or ways to penetrate column defences, so you still can't run catchers from deep in one turn, keep them alive just hanging round your opponents half, or group up and try and burst through a defence that sits back. Certainly it might well make the two-turn scores a lot more likely or viable for many teams with Throwers, and probably makes them less likely for those that don't, but otherwise I'm sceptical that anything will change the 8-turn game-managing cage-based grind. |

I made a video on the rules changes,
- I'm not sure about the Claw wording
- They have opened the door to "levels" of a skill again
- Characters are trainable?

Also the other team looks orcish. But not straight up orcs. A troll and maybe goblins are also on the 'new pitch' photo. I'm thinking an Orc Big 'Uns inspired roster. |
I recognize the existing human Ogre in there, but the other red models I can't place - a lot of them seem to have feathered headdresses on their helmets and seem to have very static poses compared to the current human team.
For the green models I see 7 (maybe 8?) very obviously "stunty" players, and 8 models which could either be of a size with the current Orcs or even Black Orcs. What's really interesting is the green team has at least 12 players on the pitch, possibly a 13th partially obscured by one of the larger models in the middle. |

Hmmm. I will wait and see what comes out. However, I may be done with BBowl if this is how it goes. I like my game the way it is thank you. |

It sounds a bit complicated right? Couldn't they just have given AG 3 throwers strong arm or accurate as a standard starting skill (perhaps raising cost by 10k)?
Or should I reserver judgement until the ruleset is offically out? |

This is in line with how they now manage their core games as well as Necromunda. Their goal is to sell miniatures. Keeping the game static does not do that. |

Bringing out a new edition or making other significant rules changes shortly after publishing (expensive) books and supplements is GW 101. As Semitence points out, they exist to sell models and will happily piss off the gaming community to do so. I mean, they even stopped Blood Bowl for years, this is small beer to them.
Will wait to see what the rules do, on the very short scan of an incomplete series of hazy pictures they might not be too bad. Possibly even an improvement (not always a given with GW edition changes). GW can create great fluff and immerse you in a wonderful world, but their rules have always been a poor second place. Expect a few gaps, contradictions and basic grammatical errors. |
