I am having some choice paralysis in regards to an upcoming tournament and I have been milling some roster ideas.
First off let me fill you in on the rules. 1200k gold to build your team; no wizards, cards, or mercs allowed. Each team will also be assigned a number of points depending on the chosen team's tier (6/8/10.)
Points may be spent as follows:
1 for primary skills
2 for Secondary skill
2 for Star players
4 for Super Stars (such as Morg, Griff and the others decided by GW)
Restrictions are no skill may be chosen more then 3 times and no single player may have more then 2 skills purchased for them. Also the number of Secondary skills that can be purchased period are limited to a number equal to thier team's tier rating. Tier 1 teams are also limited to only a single star player being allowed on the roster
Now that that is out of the way, here are the teams I am debating, there are three of then.
Chaos Dwarf
2 Bull Centaurs with Block and Break Tackle
2 Dwarfs with guard
4 standard Dwarf
4 hobgoblins
4 reroll
appo
2 coach and a fan
Classic Human
Ogre with Block
2 tackle Blitzers
2 Mighty Blow Blitzers
2 Block Catcher
Thrower
4 Linemen
3 reroll
Appo
Bribe
and a single coach
Vampire
2 Vampires with Block and dodge
1 Vampire with Block and Tackle
1 Vampire with wrestle and Strip Ball
7 thrills
4 rerolls
Appo
Leaving 150 left
May make the wrestling Vampire stock and buy Helmut or buy a new thrall and a Bribe here. Not sure
What are your thoughts on these rosters and what would you bring to a weekend long tournament? |

Is this 2020 rules? If so I'd definitely not take Break Tackle on the Bull Centaurs and then get a third Guard and a Mighty Blow in there somewhere.
With Humans I'd be more inclined to go Block Ogre, 3 Guard Blitzers, MB+T Blitzer. That leaves you with one skill to spend. If you're set on the Bribe you want a DP. Without the Bribe SG Catchers are also legit, and you can't go wrong with Block somewhere. It's worth squeezing a Halfling in there if you can just for the extra OTTD threat.
It's certainly possible to get Cindy in there too; very cheap and disruptive, and not currently a Super Star. I don't use her myself so I'm not sure how effective a choice that would be.
No idea on Vampires! |

When are you planning on using the apo? I don't see them a lot in tournaments, probably because they're not that useful; unless you're using them on a KO, the chance of success is only about 60%, and for those odds I'd rather take Cindy and drop a couple of Guard players (or put Guard on the Ogre instead) |

I only played like 7 games on vamps, so take it as you like. Thralls get hurt very frequently, so I would take a bunch of subs. Probably I would swap the 4th vampire, but as I said, I am very far from a specialist. |
