Hi guys, this is my first forum Topic I've made. I've played a few games and I'm now looking to make a ranked team. (the last one I made was a chaos team...it didn't go well) So I was hoping someone could give me advice on a good solid team to make for my first time joining Ranked. I intend to make a black box Necromantic team too (so I can gain experience faster) |

Welcome!
Here's the playbooks for Ranked: http://www.plasmoids.dk/bbowl/LRB6Playbooks.htm
For your first team in Ranked, I always recommend you have fun. Don't sweat win/loss ratio, or your "Coach Rank" it's meaningless anyway. Pick a team that you will enjoy playing, read the playbook, and go play some games. Don't be afraid to rebuild a team a few times, this is a game after all.
If you're looking for racial suggestions, I'm a fan of Humans and High Elves for fun ranked play. |

Chaos certainly give you lots of building options. As suggested have a good read of the playbook and concentrate on getting skills that complement your playstyle, whether that be lots of bashing or something with a bit mire finesse, most importantly.....
Have fun and welcome to the site |

If you want to find matches very easily, play Wood Elves! Besides, they are a lot of fun when they work. Of course, when they don't work, they may very well all die... |

Orcs and Dark Elves are often considered easy starting options. They do what they do out of the box, and don't break too quickly. |

Chaos have a lot of options yes but my positionals are too easily taken out and too few. Thanks for the link to the play books that will help.
I'll put some thought in and go for what is fun as you guys said |

Chaos are very hard to play until they gain some skills, but become very powerful as they grow.
Teams which start out quite well include Humans, Orcs and any kind of Elves. |

What about amazons, don't they start out very well too? |

amazons are great but require somewhat more tact.
Orcs have ST to get their 2dice in, elves their 2+ dodge.
When you screw up (which all rookie coaches do), they break because of AV7. |

I was being sarcastic about his current line of playing. |

IMO Orcs and Humans are the two best rookie rosters.
I would say play 15 games with orcs...switch to humans for 15 games. Get a feel for the game, rules and so forth...then start branching out from there. |

+1
I started with wood elves as a rookie. Bad choice.
After a few games a had just 7-8 players left (no journemen by then). And I had no idea how to play elfy.
After switching to orcs I won my first game! And had a lot of fun bashing around |

Agreed. Orcs and Humans are the most fundamental teams for learning the game. |

I'd like to note I have played the game before as stunty and league teams. I know what I'm doing just wanted some help deciding on a Ranked team. My first game of Ranked went poorly. one of my positionals got taken out with a niggling injury early in the game and I rage quit half way through (much to my regret) I also retired the team straight after. I played a league team of wood elves today. which was fun |
