@Smeat - Yes, teams should be named after an Old World place, region, theme, etc.
We're currently at 14 - which means only 2 more places available for the first season. Hopefully we'll be able to get the draft done this evening, and then people will have the weekend to make teams and get them applied and we can start next week. |

If we could, is there a really good and fair method of replacing absent or lagging League players half way into a season? Could you establish or announce your thoughts on that before the League begins? I'm always curious about how that could best be managed. |

Absolutely, I think this is really important.
The first thing to bear in mind is that the league & cup season is only 5-7 games long, depending on which cup you are in. I'd ask any players who wish to leave or change teams, or to "park" their teams for a season, to wait until the cups are over (for them, anyway), and then to do it, so we can get the new teams involved in the Open Round Robin section.
Obviously, there may be people who drop out halfway through, despite the short length of a season. If someone is unresponsive and therefore forfeits two games in a row without explanation, we'll look to substitute their team with someone on a (hypothetical at this point) waiting list. They can be directly drafted in to their spot. They are unlikely to win that season, but they get some games in before their first "real" season.
If someone has a history of not playing their games, I'll have a word. |

Yes, I did count that one. But I'm not keen on letting in players (at least initially) who have played less than 20 games. In my experience, they don't always stick around.
I hope that isn't the case, and I've let stoutfellow know that if he wants to join next season I'll gladly have him.
We now have the full 16, I'm just waiting for chimp2010 to send me his list. Hopefully we can make the draw this evening.
