TBH, and I hate to say it, but I hope it is complete, bug free and has servers. I would hate to see a game that could hurt this site, but as a consumer, I would love a product that is what we wanted out of the first one. If all inducements are there, all the bugs fixed, shiny new graphics and servers that dont make games take 3 hours, then it would be great. I love FUMBBL, but I would also love to see BB done right on the computer with good graphics. |

Anyone who's been gouged by Cyanide chose it themselves. I picked up Legendary Edition for $10, which is fine by me even if I barely played it.
And if the next version has nothing but graphics/ui updates it might still be worth buying, since it is currently a clunky POS. |

I look forward to it. I've gotten serious value out of the Cyanide client at over 700 hours. I just started a fumbbl today. Both versions have their quirks and I enjoy both. |

The interesting part is calling it BB '2'.
What does that mean?
Why isn't it just another edition?
What do they have to add to the genre? They won't be allowed Slann, so there's only really Pact left.......which could have been given to CE really.
How much control has GW had over the naming of it? Calling something '2' is very computer gamey, and not hobby gaming or GW policy at all.
Why make (I guess) a total new game, when they haven't got the old one right? Could it be the programming is so messy now it's easier to start again?
or It's being developed for more state of the art equipment. More modern PCs and the PS4.
or does BB 2 mean, they're going to get X-treem on teh franchises arse!! And make it an X sport we can be proud of. Skate boards, weird hand gestures, American style 'whooooing' YEAH!!!
After the success of adding the well planned Khorne roster, it's emboldened them to make all sorts of crazy new stuff!
It's interesting for sure, my hunch the '2' is going to be a bit of a misnomer and confusing and pointless in the future.
It's all a bit of a surprise. I thought they were about done with the franchise. Financially has it been successful? |

I think it is called 2 because there will be completely new graphics and that will be all. That's my guess anyway. So, new stadiums and models etc.... |

it would be worth it if just the AI was at all competitive. idk how they would go about doing that but i know they have that AI that gives champion chess players a run for their money. I would buy if the AI is worth anything though, I am a BB junky/fan and sometimes it would just be nice to zone out and play the cpu.
and why cant they implement slann? |

I think a really good BB AI is pretty difficult, they've certainly improved it a lot, and I get the feeling they put a fair bit of time and effort into it.
BB, has much more variation than chess. For example with chess you play with the same pieces all the time, however in BB you don't. The pro elf game and the dwarf game are totally different (unless you're rabe), which means what..............2 different AIs? 1 AI but with different programmes for each race? Who programmes each race? A specialist on that race?
This of course doesn't take into account all the variations, time, turn, rrs left, pressure etc. Chess has a very direct purpose, check mate the king or force a draw.
GW, wrote Slann out of their worlds. 1. Jurassic Park came along, and they wanted to cash in on that with the Lizardman army (that replaced Slann in Warhammer).
2. The growing consensus was that giant frogs weren't really that cool. And they needed to go. Strange they did this though, when they started appealing to a younger market.
The bottom line is Slann will never be official as long as GW have control. It's not a look/theme they wish to have in their games. |

The Slann race was added 'unofficially'. Games Workshop allows the use of Pact and Underworld in official tournaments, because they consist of miniatures that Games Workshop sells. In order for Games Workshop to allow the use of Slann in tournaments, they'd have to make a team first, which they don't because Blood Bowl is abandonware.
(though I wonder, if you made a custom Slann team using some GW minis, could you use it?)
Anyway, I could see the Slann team enter the new edition, since the PC version doesn't involve miniatures.
The logo looks to me like they couldn't quite bring themselves to really call it 2, so they just added some bloody smear. |

Really? Are you sure?
I got the impression that they had not changed it at all and daren't touch the code for fear of making it worse. 
Edit: Unless you mean tweaks to the config file supplied by the community. |

Well............my PC version after updates (LE) had a better AI than my Xbox version that was original. I took that, as them having updated it.
I'm going on that only. |

i don't think that forecasting cyanide to do nothing but gouge their fanbase is so much "insecurity" as it is "repeating the same story they've done for the previous 3 iterations"...

I fully support Cyanide and all its spawn companies spewing out endless editions. GW really likes all the royalties from IP and CW use. As long as GW is happy getting money for a dead game in their eyes. "we" should be happy on FUMBBL.
Because they wont throw Christer and Kalimar a kings ransom to buy a real Blood Bowl sight and FF client.
So in the end Cyanide is helping FUMBBL out by keeping GW happy and off of Christer's back and all the other fan websites out there.
Dont feel pity for the BB players who only play on cyanide...thank them for "taking one" for the FUMBBL team. |
