After someone mentioned that actually quite a lot of teams could be created out of LEGO figures, I wondered if there are some LEGO and Blood Bowl fanatics out there who would create player pics for public use or a LEGO-themed league in the League division.
This is probably not for everyone's taste, but a LEGO league would be somewhat fun. And I believe other coaches might like to use such pictures as well.
What teams could easily be (re-)created with LEGO?
Who has suitable figures and would take photos of them?
What do you guys think?
(I just wanted to write it down before I forget about it.) |

Thanks for the link. I have a team that uses LEGO pics as well, but both examples don't try to represent "real" BB players as close as possible. Two different approaches, both nice though. |

There are several guys out my way who use Lego teams. In our league we are not uppity about Figures. As long that are numbered clearly on their base, and they are somewhat easy to recognize, it's all good in the woods. There are several teams that can be made out of Lego. Probably all of them. Check out eBay.
We had a fella who used them in a Tournament here and a Yuppy princess refused to play against the team. Whateva. |

Haha, that one looks nice, too!
Another approach towards the topic. So we have three now. Interesting.
I was actually thinking more like: "Okay, I want to play reace XY, but I don't have the miniatures. Let's see if I can build a LEGO XY team as convincingly looking as possible!" (And then take pictures and upload them.)
But I like all three ideas. |

Wow, Cool stuff! Shame about the low picture quality and the non-individual pics. Guess Rabe will have to track down the creator. Still, amazing. =D |

Awesome! That is exactly what I'm looking for. I wouldn't use those for FUMBBL player pics though, simply because the quality is not that good. And for some teams there might be options to get a bit more variety (which is obviously not sensible when actually playing TT with those guys). For example: I have gathered over 20 heads that would make great faces for at least human players.
But there are great ideas in those photos and a lot of models (like vampires) I didn't even know of their existence!
For FUMBBL, you can create the pics one by one (even though group pics are obviously nice, too), so for many players/teams, some pieces (like the bodies) could be used for many or even all players.
I think I have to take a closer looks at LEGO pieces on flea markets and second hand shops in the future... |
