On my 10.6.8 I had to go into java preferences, the Network and then click off the "Keep temporary files for fast access." This seemed to work for me. Thanks for the help.

I have cleared the Java Cache, and updated to the most recent Java.
When I choose to start, it asks me to open or save ffb.jlnp, then says that windows can't find a way to open it. Did I miss re-installing something?

Sounds like you uninstalled java by mistake :s go to the java web site and download and install it again

When I try to start or spec a match, it will ask to open or save ffb.jlnp. I'll try to open it, and I get the "Windows cannot open this file. File: ffb (whatever number I happen to be at).jlnp.

To open this file, Windows needs to know what program you want to use to open it..

Yes , as I said before you have uninstalled java. Go to the java web site and reinstall it.

Have done that. It's almost as if whatever program I had previously was taken away by the update. I've uninstalled/reinstalled 3 different times now.

Computer wants to know what program I want to use to open a .jnlp file. Seems like my computer, since updating the Java, now doesn't have a way to do it.
