Nope, didnt work.
Going to try to reinstall and make sure its 32 bit.
(Right now i have the recommended which i assume is 64)

The key is the amount of informations you provide.
If we have to speculate about everything you say and do, we'll have a hard time to figure out whats wrong.

Not sure what version is recommended. 64 Bit java really only works with a 64 bit browser.. and you use chrome and that doesn't come with a 64 bit browser..

Don't really know what else to give...
I did all you guys said.
uninstalled all java
deleted all jnlp files.
deleted all java folders
resinstalled java 7 build 51 32 bit
tried to open a game as usual, nothing
tried to open jnlp file in folder, nothing
tried to open jnlp file from folder with "open with", nothing
I'll just assume my IT department has done some voodoo since I spec too much from work. Currently speccing from private computer and it works fine.

Ok, you don't have to do random stuff again.

Just tell me some things.

1. Thats a question from ages ago: What's your OS?

Quote:
deleted all java folders

2.If you say you deleted them, I hope you didn't do it manually but with the uninstaller?

Quote:

3. Yes, but did you also follow my instruction not to use the default javaws.exe from the window but to click the browse button and look for the file? (that was sort of the point)

Just answer (all three of) the above questions, please.

Ok now that that is done, we need to know what the problem is. There is a way to find out. The Java Control Panel... It should be in your system folder..

1. Windows 7
2. Uninstalled yes, not deleted sorry.
3. Yes, did that too. But isn't it actually the same as the default?

Have you looked in add/remove programs list ? To make absolutely sure you only have java installed once?

You wouldn't be able to tell. It could be from an outdated version or even link to one that is gone. The javaws.exe from any other java that is or has been on your computer still would be called the same. The only way to be sure is to go in and to pick it out yourself.

Besides the problem you describe matches exactly the problem of an incorrectly linked file. The fact that this doesn't work is quite the conundrum.

Set your console to stay open and log whats happening.

I'm sorry that I can't focus on this more, but I'm quite buisy now. Tomorrow I'll think of something, maybe get some fresh input.

Best of luck for now.
