The beauty of the roster is that it ends up with the personality of the coach imprinted upon it.

They are a lot like humans imo. Master of nothing but versatile. This is also their weakness though as the specialised teams are always the best in a perpetual environment.

This and this.
Definitely my second favorite team after humans.
The same coolness and playstyle, but with AG4.
Pure win.

I have said for years.

He still isn't right, is he? I'd have thought humans are 2nd rate DE. They play nothing like HE (unless we hark back to the 'purple' comments about nuance) and a more finesse bash DE style, but without the dodging.

I still don't think it's time to make the headline 'PS finally right after all these years'.

Something has been bothering me in general for a while and I thought I would put it out there for the view of the masses.

I was wondering if you could all shed some light on it for me.Why don't people like playing HE? Even if they don't start with skills the AV8 plus great potential catchers and blitzers as well as a blank slate make them the thinking man's choice in my opinion. Hell, with 3 skills you can have 4 players with wardancer stat lines. Even if they are far more expensive by then!

But still, they aren't wankers like Wood Elves, dull and ruthless like Dark Elves or weak and lopsided like Pro Elves...

And yet, I see tons of Pro, Woodie and Dark Elf teams running around. I will concede that given their hard start people can struggle and give up. I have always had a bit of a soft spot for the High Elves even if I mainly dabbled with the other types and have almost reached the point of giving in to my base urges and giving them a crack.

Anyhoo, be interested to see your thoughts on all of this.

And let's be honest here. The cool kids play High Elves! Very Happy

They don't come with anything good on their catchers besides catch. That's it and that's all. Otherwise they're AV8 line-elves with 2 generic Blitzers.

Personally I love HEs because of the AV8 Lineman, it really does help keep the heat off your catchers. Not every hit is going be MB+Claw, not every dodge or GFI is going to succeed, and that AV8 makes a small but important difference.

Azure did some box research here to help us decide, where his high elves actually seemed to do better than his wood elves considering TDs for vs against (mind you this is box).

Again this is just one coach and his play style but it can help us a bit with looking at comparisons.

FWIW, I have a winning record with my Pelfs, am dead even with my Welfs, and have losing records with Delfs and Helfs. To ratchet down the skill level and see how an average player plays.

the catchers are expensive and take a lot of work to get into decent players - otehrwise they are a great team.

Aye, Dark Elves and Humans have a more similar play style than High Elves and Humans.

4 Blitzers for a start.

I'm wondering if there might be such a thing as "Being too good to test things properly". Because I have a sneaking suspicion that Azure falls into that camp! Very Happy

Although, I do wonder why doesn't the HE Catchers come with dodge? When the WE ones come with Catch, Dodge, Spring AND mv8. And Wardancers.

I'd take a WE catcher on a HE team any day of the week Smile

On offence yes, on defence no. An ST 3 MA 8 ag access player on defence has a lot of potential. The ST 2 player has practically zip.

Dodge on the catchers would be great.
