With the [L] changes coming soon, I launched an idea in the Space Marines thread which I have been thinking about: a Space Marine league, or even extend it to WH40k.
For that, please submit your proposed rosters in this thread. I'm looking for more flavor than balance, but keep in mind that the rosters must be playable with the current client and league options. Specifically, I'm thinking the option to field up to 16 players for swarming. |

Ultramarines
0-1 Dreadnaught 4 7 1 10 Mighty Blow, Thick skull, Regenerate, Multiple block, No hands S GAP 250k
0-2 Terminator 4 5 2 10 Mighty Blow, Thick skull GS AP 200k
0-1 Sargeant 6 4 4 9 Leader, Thick skull GASP 170k
0-4 Ultramarines 6 4 4 9 Thick skull GAS P 150k
0-12 Bunker wall 0 6 0 10 Cannot move, Cannot block, No hands, Stand Firm, Guard S GAP 40k
Re-roll counters: 40k each

Ultramarines' tactical proficiency allows them to set up a favorable defensive field in order to counter their limited numbers. |

I'm looking for actual playable rosters, with prices and all, and considering a reasonably fun gameplay. |

yeah, i fear their actual power might be a little underwelming. Depending on how the other rosters are made, of course.
Still, they might have a very decent defense if they can manage to field the 12 bunker walls! |

A playable space marine roster would not be a space marine roster. Space marines would need a pitch 5 times bigger with stats way outside the norm. If you want to lessen their stats so they are all space marines, what's the point? Just play a human league and call them space marines in that case. |

The problem is really Zakatan almost all the races in 40k are identical. all of them are just space marines, then there are Tau, Daemons, Ork, Eldar, Dark eldar, imperium, necrons and Tyranids.
So only really 9 races.
The way to make it interesting and work once custom rosters are possible would be to do with how they skill up, giving them different skill access to G S A P M. Instead give each player type access to specific skills on a chart this would then make this pretty interesting and make the many different space marines (blood angels, ultra marines, CSM etc.. etc..) unique,
so say a Space Marine is 6 4 4 9 this would be the basis from which they are all build.
Then an ultra marine would have access too - Block, Tackle, Leap, etc.....
while a CSM would have the same stat line but access to some additional mutations,
A blood Angel could have thick skull additionally, maybe access to chainsaws
dark angels could have access to bombs and HMP additionally.
and so on.....
Then tyanids could get things like regen, tentacles, claw,
You just need to write all the potential players down and then make a skill matrix.
Would be cool! |

Attack may win you games, but defense is what earns you championships! |

I'll give it a thought.
Meanwhile, we can try to set vanilla stats for the different races:
Marine: 6449
Eldar: 7347
Ork: 5439
Human/Tau: 6338
Gants: 6237 stunty

Why are orks stronger than orcs? I'm no expert just curious. |
