I have got this team:

1 Gutter Runner block sidestep
1 Gutter Runner wrestle stripball
1 Gutter Runner +1MA Sprint
1 Gutter Runner
1 Linerat Kick
1 Linerat Wrestle
1 Thrower
1 RatOgre
1 Blitzer Mighty Blow and Pilling On
1 Blitzer ???

and a bunch of linerat up to 13 players!

Still 4 regular matches + (hopefully) playoffs!
I will meet Undead (highly relying on ghoul) chaos dwarf, dwarf and norse (some blodger). If I'll get to the playoffs I will probably play against an Elf team with at least 3 blodger

Solid team. I'd give guard. Get that first blitzer to tackle soon.

I like mighty blow on Skaven blitzers first to help them develop faster. They rarely score with the gutters hogging the SPP, so they need the kickstart.

Guard is probably the better skill, but I'd take MB.

I would choose MB, but Tackle and Guard are also good, it's more a question of playing style.

Had guard play a central role last game where I 1d6 to get into B2B with Ball Carrier, then blitz with GR, catch the ball with the one turner, bingo bango, TD.

Guard is super useful but its always hard deciding whether you want two killers, one with tackle/MB and one with MB/PO or if you want an assister. There are certain defensive setups you'll face against ST4 teams where having that guard can prove vital to getting a 2d6 blitz on an edge player that opens up the field.

Maybe the Rat Ogre might hit something and get guard, while the Blitzer gets Tackle.

True, there are better options. But still a Guard would be good but a tackler is essential for some matchups.

Well, I'll never be completely satisfied with my choice but in the end I picked up Guard! It wasn't too useful, but neither would be tackle this match I played against Undead. By the way, I won 2-1 yeah!

I'm not a big fan of guard on a blitzer as a 1st skill. It's true that skaven struggle at times with blocking because they cannot spam guard, but taking a lone guard doesn't really impact much either.

Better to start them with MB so they can ideally get to 16 faster. That's the real point where you decide between tackle or guard (or take a double/stat more ideally). Since gutters are so dynamic, and usually the reason you win or lose, being able to keep the attrition battle more even is very important. Of course if you're facing Undead/Dwarf/CD then MB doesn't help dramatically, but it still improves your chances of getting a couple players out over the course of the game.

Essentially you can just target the hobbers on the CD, and whatever AV8 the dwarfs have. That simply opens more space for your speed to take advantage of, and makes it harder for those teams on offense to cage/screen as effectively.
