Well I have gotten some requests from coaches to bring back a "pickers challenge". We have not done one this year, so, back by popular demand.
Altdorf Book and Casino "Pickers" Challenge
FUMBBL fans it is time to introduce the pickers challenge for the Black Cup.
Here is how it is going to work.
Every Wed. I will post 10 interesting matches for you to choose from. You will pick 5 of the matches. The entry form will have the 5 picks ranked from your 5 point game to your 4 point game all the way down to your 1 point game.
So the most points you can get in a round is 15 points. Every Wed. I will post 10 more matches and off we go for round 2.
So you are picking 5 games out of the 10 posted. You will rank your 5 picks by points you earn for a win. So your stone cold lock you would pick for your 5 point match and your toss up, I have no clue match as your 1 point match. Every round we add up the total points earned and keep a running total as we go through the BC.
NOW there will be a speculation bet worth 5 points also. It will be in the vein of: Of the 10 matches which one do you think will have a combined score (touchdowns) of 6+. Or of the 10 matches which one will have a combined CAS line that exceeds 10+CAS in the match. |

Altdorf Book and Casino "Pickers" Challenge
AB&C has added another element to the "Pickers Challenge", More Prizes, More points and MORE CARNAGE!!!! (Ok, maybe not carnage but more points)
"Pickers" Challenge Survivor Pool
This challenge will be running inside the normal pickers challenge game, here is how it works.
In order to 'survive" you must pick your 3 point match correctly. IF you make a correct 3 pt match then you survive in this sub game into the next round. IF you miss your 3 pt. match you are OUT, FINI, Thrown to the sharks....CARNAGE!!!!
That last coach standing at the end of the pickers challenge survivor challenge who has not been eliminated gets a bonus of 10pts onto their final score.
IF all the remaining coaches go "out" in the same round. Tough luck, that is how the cookie crumbles and no one gets any bonus points.
IF at any point there is only 1 coach left in the survivor challenge going into a new round, he wins, regardless of what round that occurs in.
IF there are more than one coach still alive when the last round is announced, then all the surviving coaches get the 10 bonus points.

Pickers Challenge Update
Ok the draw is made and off we go. The # of teams this year means it will be 7 rounds to determine the Black Cup Champion. SO, the pickers challenge will have 4 rounds of picks and then the final 8 will be on round 5 which will determine the winner of the Black Cup Pickers Challenge.

Burn Notice advances out of the first round but they are a shell of there former selves with out their legendary Rat Ogre Sam Axe. Can they rekindle that fighting spirit and repeat their title run in the Wheel of Chaos all those many years ago in this years Black Cup? Or are they just a tease right now? A team that some coaches nod there head, oh, yeah they are on the rise but alas they are just another team that is chum for the sharks of the Black Cup? |

I just noticed that Coach Dalfort drew the "bad" straw on the admin team and he is the guy you need to spam Pm's to if you are having trouble arranging your matches.
Man, Dalfort, got the shaft. Sent off to the far east where no on really wants to go.
It is like all the admins are sitting around. Who wants to admin the tournament on a nice tropical beach? who is going to admin the tournament in Atldorf with all the luxury penthouse suites and a party every night? who wants to admin the tournament in the cool underground with all that cool warpstone "blow" for free?
Then there is poor Dalfort, pulls the wrong straw. Ok, Dalfort, you get sent off the the edge of the world to a Major that the majority of coaches do not know is even going on, the major that draws, like, no fun, the major that is regulated to the basement. Have fun!!!!
Last we see of Dalfort is him climbing into a coach with 2 black steeds headed off into the sunset of gloom and black soot and doom. |

Meanwhile on a dock in far off Lustria PurpleChest steps off his luxury yacht with the admin team. Porters carrying all their steamer trunks to their 5 star resort hotel which will serve as the FUMBBL HQ for the Lustrian Challenge.
Later that night PurpleChest holds court with the rest of the admin team, they are all drunk and having a great time. They look around and realize that Dalfort is not there. They sit back, take a big pull off their steins and smile. Oh, thank god he is not around to run off all the ladies.
Let the Admin party ensue!!!! |
