It was something we were going to announce when we posted for Season 3, but i didn't expect the NSL to finish so quickly or for the SSL to get held up again. |

@Semi, 3-1-0 in football tends to produce more attacking play early in the match, and thus more goals overall, but teams with a lead play even more conservatively late in the match because there's less relative value in goal difference.
Bloodbowl's probably not comparable, as you already have to control the timing of scores to win regularly, and risk naturally pays off better late in the game. We should see more late risky plays from a team with the ball when they're tied, assuming rational actors and whatnot, because there's twice the gain for winning vs cost for losing.
No points for a tie should produce even more risky plays late in the game, to emphasise the point.
But when you're ahead, you're ahead, no matter the scoring system you're not going to risk anything late in the game. If possible, of course, it's not quite that simple. |
