So how to quantify who the best player is? Quite simply, you can't
But here's one measure. per game.
We'll set the minimum at 30 games so the fireflies that burn brightly for one game then die don't skew the results too much. 3-4 seasons should be enough for a player to stamp his mark on the league.
So dig up your best players, or your heroes from other teams and nominate them to replace the greats on the list above that the Twahnlows are named after. Unfortunately Passing Yards, Rushing Yards, Blocks and Fouls were not measured by FUMBBL until late 2005.
I'll update the list in a week.
EDIT: With the impending update of the opening post, here are the Heroes of the Twahnlows:
Star Player Points: Duke Snakefield 246SPP in 98 games 2.51 SPP per game
Touchdowns: Disco Dan 58TD in 86 games 0.67 TD per game
Casualties: The Replacemnt 80CAS in 66 games 1.21 CAS per game
Turns: Touchstone ?? Turns in 75 games
Rushing Yards: Xies-ler-aym >799 yards in 109 games >7.33 Yards per game
Passing Yards: Manfred von Richthofen >198 yards in 82 games >2.41 Yards per game
Fouls: John Stone 126 fouls in 39 games 3.23 Fouls per game
Blocks: Eth'el 925 blocks in 157 games 5.89 Blocks per game
Completions: Emilio Luthien 74 Cps in 61 games 1.21 Completions per game
Blocks per Cas: Geoffrey Grimwade 5.47 Blocks/Cas
Pass yards per Cp: Duskwind Strongarm 4.25 Pass/Cp
Intercepts: Karlis Skrastins 4 intercepts in 27 games 0.13 Intercepts per game |

Manfred von Richtofen isn't even close to most Passing Yards per Game.
Tuco Noriaga 606 Passing Yards from 51 games. Average 11.88 Yards per game.
He also had 90 Completions, at an average of 1.76 Completions per game.
Also an average yards per Competion of 6.73. |

Yeah but Manfred's first 43 games don't have the passing yards recorded so we can't tell from the numbers how great he was |

Geoffory Grimwade there has more cas/game than The Replacemnt, 1.53 cas/game. Claw/RSC for both of them was a fair bit better than modern CPOMB though, so that may deserve an LRB4 bracket.
Also, your interceptor doesn't have 30 games.
If Manfred has 39 games recorded, it's 5.07 yards per game for that set, so there should be plenty of elves with better. Leave the twahnlow ones up anyway, nice to see them. My team is rather young yet, and wouldn't get in any of them anyway, had such a slow start with my fouler.
None of the other modern foulers I've noticed check out either. Average 26 fouls per season is huge. |

If less than 30 games, i'll divide by 30. The brightest fireflies can fly. |

For what it's worth, the twahnlows stars will never be eclipsed, as they were the First and thus the Best, I don't care what any of these young whippersnapper stars think they have accomplished, now get off my lawn! |

Santa's helpers at the North Pole have been busy searching for Norse men to represent them in the opening post. Here are their best finds (some not good enough):
SPP/Game: Grumnir, Banner of the Black Stag 3.63
TD/Game: Grumnir, Banner of the Black Stag 0.91
Cas/Game: Lance Henrikson, Angry Asgardians 1.13
Pass/Game: Patrician the Skilled, Angry Asgardians 8.31
Rush/Game: Grumnir, Banner of the Black Stag 21.35
Block/Game: Einarr, Norscia Bezerkers 13.31
Foul/Game: Bink, brother of Bonk, Wonga Wonga Whalekillers 2.97
Pass/Cp: Anguss, Norscia Bezerkers 6.33
Block/Cas: 'Ferociously Fighting' Pip, Wonga Wonga Whalekillers 5.96 |

OK, let's bump up the self interest dial a notch. I've delved into the DIBBL and Norse databases and updated the opening post with the best of these along with the other players in the comments above.
Shocked? Outraged? Put your best forward and I'll update in a week. |

Boot: Karma Man II*, 119 fouls in 47 games, 2.53 fouls/game.
"Cas per Block" should say "Blocks per Cas".
Quite a few players, I imagine, got 2 intercepts inside 30 games. Gunhor Applegrass did in his final season, for instance, dying 1 short of being on the TD table too.
Ooh, nearly missed Hoover Widowmaker there, 410 pass yards in 27 games, 13.7 yards/game (min 30). Also 66 completions, 2.20 cmp/game (min 30). |
