Season 5 Schedule Released

The schedule for the upcoming CBBA Season has been released by the league. With kickoff less than a week away, the CBBA media cycle is coming back to life as the hype grows. After last seasons surprises, the excitement levels are at an all time high for season 5.
Can the Yhetees wrestle their way to another title? Will the Stallions bounce back? Are the Wolfpack one season wonders? Will the Griffins return to dominance? Can the South leverage their stars for bowl games? We will find out soon enough... |

The Universities are in full swing preparing their programs for the upcoming season of CBBA action. Following last season's performances there are 5 coaches on the hot seat with their respected teams. Coaches Semitence, Suttbutt, buuface, Chiappa and cdwat are feeling the pressure coming off a bad season. Who will survive and who will get the chop?

Stirland Chipper - Boris Bettygew
It would seem that thr Stirland AXEMEN have decided to stick with Head Coach Suttbutt, with Athletic Director Steffson ignoring calls to have the troubled Coach AXED from the position
"Coach Suttbutt has brought the program a new this offseason, with his new training regieme I believe he will be able to turn the records on their Head this season"
It is an interesting move for the Athletic Director, who is himself in the hotseat for several questionable coach hirings through the past few seasons.

CBBA Suspends Buccaneers Program
Debby Demonbreeder – Sports Reporter for the Altdorf Daily
In shocking news, the CBBA has handed out a one season suspension to the Norscan Peninsula Buccaneers for bringing the league into disrepute. Although the CBBA didn't get into specifics of the incident, it has enforced a one season ban on the program and coaching staff as well as permanently banning all current players from the team. The Buccaneers will only be able to return to the competition if they can meet the conduct standards of the CBBA.
"It's such a shame to have to step in like this for a program that has been an integral member of the CBBA for such a long time. There will be an opportunity for a new program to take their place, but we will lose a lot with the Buccaneers temporary absense", CBBA spokesman, Steve Harley said. |

Erengrad University public statement on rival Buccs exit.
Is so much laughing. Peninsular Buccs do too much raiding and pillaging on journeys to other cities. Unlike greatly honoured Yhetees, they kill important people, people with family in Collegiate Bowl Association, is so careless. Must pay attention to local dress customs, killing nobles and wealthy burghers is very dangerous for future of CBBA team, is not worth few extra purse coins. Erengrad CBBA Yhetees prepare whole team and travelling fans with pictorial guides to avoid such troublesome messes. Is part of being best, no one important dies. End of statement. |

RSU - Scorpions set to Sting
Reikland State Exclusive
Sources indicate that the Scorpions have been in intensive training camps over the semester break and RSU are keen to make amends on what can only be described as a poor return in the CBBA.
In a lackluster season the only saving grace was in denying their long time rivals, the Griffins, an opportunity to claim the Altdorf Cup.
The Scorpions will be looking for an easier run on the road this season, after their rookie team was once again dubiously "drawn" (thrown?) into what because known as the conference of death.
Regardless, Coach Semitence will need to elicit a significant turnaround in performance from his players, who appeared to struggle throughout season 4. |

Drinking with dwarves is to be encouraged since none of them can really hold their drink, well they can much better than a human, but either metabolism cant compete with an elf. Kislevites love a bit of a wrestle, "you wrestle good, get hot and sweaty, help Yhette man build huge volcano". So remember the Great Eagles rely on being swifter, more graceful, more athletic and ultimately more sober than their opponents. So be a team player and ensure that you show our hosts the best damn time of their lives, and if they can't remember why they woke up 30 min before kick off with their underwear missing, their loins covered in hickeys, their privates red raw and an imp playing with fireworks in their head.... Well that would be a Job Well Done! |

Coach Smegish, Gunners Part Ways
Coach Smegish and Nuln City have mutually agreed to part ways leading into season 5. Coach Smegish appeared to be performing well for the Gunners as the team was said to be training well ahead of the season. Now they are scrambling to find a replacement, with rumours circulating it could by Coach Mushoomy after his excellent season with the Cocks.

NCU Gunners Hire New Coach!
Breaking news just in from Nuln City. New Coach Geoffro has been hired to replace coach Smegish for the upcoming season.
Sources reveal Geoffro has been whipping his new boys into shape with a harder training regime than most have seen in the area for a long time.
Here's a quote from NCU Superstar Coach Reg Dandylion from this mornings paper 'Coach Geoffro's methods are somewhat different... and his statistics are nothing to jump up and down about, I suppose all we can do is wait and see what the season reveals"

Historic news from Hochland University: for the first time since its inception the CBBA has a last admitted the Hochland Outlaws BloodBowl Team into its ranks.
New Head Coach Diedrick "m0gw41" Mohr said in his first press conference: "The lads are ready, we've just come back from our latest fitness hunt session and we are looking good. Our throwers are taking out pheasant from 100 yards, Dietmar, our star blitzer, took out a boar a with his bare hands and our wingers are out sprinting the local hare. I can't see what better prep there could be for the new season. We are an unknown quantity and ready to shock the CBBA."

Taking it into accounts
Well the new season is about to start and some minor, medium and major things have happened between us beating the Gunners at the end of last semester.
The major thing that trickles down to all the rest is the coach is now dating the school accountant, Aka Miss Baggs and she has pretty much taken up a more financial interest in the team than is expected. I won't go into details as it's not my place but the results are this. It has been made obviously clear that at the end of last season the expected funds given to the club from the school and our own merchandise was lacking by an expected 110K. While the funds will be enough for now to have a stable school team, at least for my time here and maybe five more seasons we need to rake in at least 310k a season to be a stable university team.
This leads on to the medium change. We now have brand new uniforms. The brand that has sponsored us is Talagaad Transports, they will be providing all our transportation to and from games from now on so no more costly teleport spells. They will also be organizing all the new merchandise that will be sold at our games so keep an eye out for the new collectibles that will come out soon.
The minor thing is the coach has lifted the drinking ban because Miss Baggs enjoys her drink and has already taken the team out to convince us to advertise the new Talagaad branding.

Verezzo Student Times
Diavoli Welcome More Verezzo Talent
It appears Coach Remo may finally have seen the error of his ways with the appointment of a second Verezzo local to the Diavoli line up. Young Dino Karlsson was a sensation in the Tilea Cup powering the Stallions to an unprecedented fourth consecutive title. He joins CBBA All Star Filipo Orsini in the team's second season.
But it gets better. The Pussies of Luccini now have no players in the Diavoli. We all know how talentless they are in the south, and it is great to see Chiappa may be finally recognising this. Enzo was cut from the team under the pretext of adolescent fighting, but it's clear the bastard was just no bloody good at blood bowl.
In other news, the justifiable shifting of funds from the campus Science department to Athletics, has seen he rapid redevelopment of The Arena over the summer break. It is a truly beautiful stadium fit for the Tilea team. We expect that Verezzo will get our long awaited home game, and let's hope we can all put that shameful annexing of the fixture by Sartosa last season behind us. |

Excitement Grows as Kickoff Approaches
Across the Old World and beyond, the excitement is building for the return of the CBBA. Anticipation is growing as the CBBA holds off on announcing the Touring Leg specifics, though the draw is set to go ahead as early as tomorrow.
The festivals have began across the Empire and now beyond as the success of the CBBA in foreign regions grows after last season.

Griffins Favourites in Betting Market
It's no surprise that bookmakers have started the Griffins as favourites to take out the CBBA Bowl ahead of the season draw. With the strongest program and proudest tradition in the CBBA, it is rare to see the Griffins start anywhere else. Given last seasons relative success in comparison to the other usual contenders, most are predicting Tomay to guide the team back to the top.
The rest of the top five contenders for the CBBA according to the bookmakers are the Scorpions, Stallions, Wolfpack and Yhetees in order. Interestingly, the Crusaders and Eagles have been popular with punters looking for bigger odds.

Carlito Gomez the Face of CBBA Season 5
The CBBA have appointed last seasons MVP, Carlito Gomez as the figurehead for the upcoming season. Carlito's boyish good looks, natural charisma and fan favoritism made him the obvious choice to launch the season and appear on merchandise. There are very few across the entirety of the Old World who can dislike the boy from the Borders. Certainly, the CBBA is hoping the move will pay off.
