Hi all,
Me and some other friends were wondering whether it is possible to create a League that is open form like the Ranked official league, but without the restriction of the open round robin where you are restricted to one match against each team. Obviously you could do it with pen and paper with a normal group, arranging matches via chat, but still I was wondering whether there was an automatic way that would record the results, and create an automatic rankings.
Thank you!

Hi,
Just use GAME FINDER with [L]eague teams.
If teams are brand new then Team record = ur league team record.
Make a group page to post Standings and so on but don't launch tournaments of any kind.
Hope it helps

It's possible, but isn't fully automatic.
1. Create a league group and have your friends join.
2. Play matches.
3. Use Shraaaag's League Script using all match IDs (the number in match report URLs) to calculate your table.
4. Paste the result on the group page or use Team Scores on the "Team" section of the group to display league table (must be manually updated).
You find the script (and many others) here: https://www.pvv.ntnu.no/~brill/fumbbl/?page=gt&sub=league
Additionally:
If you make an open round robin tournament, Shraaaag's script will also help fetch all of the match IDs for you. Otherwise you will have to find and insert them manually. This requires a bit more work.
For example:
Make a new round robin every week, and then that week's match IDs using the script, and then update your league table for example every Monday morning.
Drawback is this limits the number of teams to 30.
Alternatively, you can script something like koadah has done: http://fumbbldata.azurewebsites.net/sprint.html?sprintId=206 |
