Hi!
It was written that perhaps a change of the dwarf team shall come. Reinforcements by ST4 players are meaningful since they have hardly any chance against the St4 teams which have moreover fast players.
I wanted to ask whether and when this change comes.
Greeting

I hope this is just a rumor. Dwarfs are good enough as they are. Sure, they're slow but with lino's starting with block/tackle/thick skull and general and strength acces and the 2 troll slayers the team can handle any of the "stronger" teams if you play em right. If amything they should either lose the block or the tackle to tone em down a bit so they are more balanced when compared to the other teams. |

Man, I hate these new vault rules. Giving dwarfs a chainsaw, a bomber and a deathroller (and as far as I can see they're permenant players) is just a plain bad idea. I hope some psycho wipes out GW before they become official. The rules are fine now the way they are (well, maybe some tweaks here and there concerning balancing of rosters but otherwise fine). If these vault rules become official and are enforced all over fumbbl (in all divisions) I might just pack up and leave... |

Riiiiiiiiiight just looked at the new dwarf rules. What the hell is going on there?
I was happy with all the vault rules till i saw that.
The deathroller on the team list dosen't bother me too much because they suck
The Bombadier on the team list dosen't bother me too much (an AG2 bomber? - going to blow himself up more than anyone else, gets rid of those dwarf re-rolls too which is always nice)
The chainsaw player is mindbogglingly cheesy - secret weapons on a normal palyer are just plain wrong - in my own league we had that sort of thing in effect and it got out of hand very quickly. Some of GW's experimental rules have been fiascos (anyone remember blowpipe? brrrr) and im going to keep a close eye on this one. Dwarfs are hard enough already.
I suppose the thinking is that if these players cant advance then its vaguley balanced and that taking spps on players who can't advance will inflate team rating with no benefit.
However this is just another incentive for ag teams to avoid dwarfs like the plague.
Some one at GW really likes their dwarf team |

AAAAAAAARGH and no general access for treeman?
Whats going on? 2 negative skills and now a good chance of falling over themselves.
Someone needs to go back to the team lists and have a serious think. |

I don't get why they are going to change the rules at all. Are they considered unbalanced or broken?
I just hope that many of the vault rules will change before they become official. |

Some rules are unbalanced and broken like fouling, the kickoff table, and the handicap table (which is unbalanced: broken in places, weak in others and dull throught). There are three good examples that need changing.
From what I've seen of the vault rule smost of these changes are sensible and should have been changed years ago.
I just feel that the new team list is messed up and that it would be a shame, when the other rules have been balenced to mess up the teams.
If that happens it'll be a major dissapointment.
Just say no kids. |

Just FYI, the vault rules special weapons:
- automatically get kicked off after one drive (sure, probably an 8-turn drive in the case of dwarves, but still just one drive) and
- never gain skills.
Yes, they are permanent players but without accumulating skills, it's just like paying to freeboot every game.
(note that all this is as of 1.3. I didn't bother looking at 1.4 yet.)
I'm not fond of all the changes they have but try it out and give it a chance before coming down on it. It might not suck as much as you think. At the very least, read it before complaining. |

I have read the rules extensivly and up until this point I was very happy with them.
As far as trying them out goes I have in my own local league. Secret weapons in normal leagues sre just wrong can you imagine how much damage a chainsaw is going to do to an av7 team even after 1 drive?
With dwarfs love of stalling you are possibly going to see 8 turns of death where it takes no actual tactical skill (or very much risk) to seriously cripple a team.
Why bother with block, tackle players when you can reduce some key players to mush.
I understand Blodge may be a bit too good but this is a mindbogglingly bad place to find the answer.
I also wouldn't be too happy playing with higher av teams (can you imagine what a chainsaw will do to rotters?)
Seriously weapons in ranked is a terrible idea |
