I m playing one of my most boring game against a player who need 5 or 6 minutes each turn. What can we do to fight against so boring game 
And of course i asked for a quick game on the irc  |

5 or 6 minutes is bad, but 10 minutes for set-up is just murder. |

well.. in situations like these i yell at my pc and go get another cup of coffee...but i guess remembering the name and not playing that coach again works as well...

Foul foul foul. Maybe he will conceide or at least be undermanned so that it will be quicker. Or at least, you will have so few players left that he can't be long. |

i find it even more frustrating when a player is slow and a poor coach, watching someone take 8 minutes to completely screw up a play is really annoying, when i know i can mess up a play in about 30 seconds |

If they take 10 minutes per turn you can play a Chaos League match while you're waiting. |

Well, I am not the fastest player ever.
That would be a lie, and while it´s true that some people are really slow.
There´s usually an explanation.
Noob´s are per definition slow, in reality so are good coaches. Few turnovers, longer time per turn.
Offcourse the more experienced the faster. Other factors are slow modems, touchpads - like mine, in game talks etc.
But some people out there expect a match to be of 30 min.
I expect one to take 90 min, if I don´t have that time. I don´t play.
It´s not that it usually takes that long, but it easily can do.
So it´s what u expect from the game that decides, and while I agree that 5-6 min per turn is really a "treat" that can annoy anyone, it´s not done by perpose - I hope  |

LOL@freak_in _a_frock. The art of messing up a perfectly good BloodBowl opportunity in amazingly short time is all but lost. We must all help in carrying the torch. I know that I've certaintly fulfilled my obligations in that area... |

Here is a helpfull hint. Set the option on your game to whistle at the 4 min mark.
There is usually a turn during the game when I get stuck and take over 4 mins. But when that happens, I hear that whistle which is a reminder to get my ass moving. I then type "sorry for taking too long" and try to finish my moves within the next 10-15 secs.
After I get blown for going over once I usually make an attempt to play quicker for the remainder of the game. |

Devil's advocate counter argument: Why wouldn't you want your opponent to play the best game they know how, even if it means long turns? I want a challenge, therefore I don't mind if they take a long time.
This IS a strategy game afterall. If I wanted a fast-paced game I'd whip out the console or an FPS.

BTW, I understand that the counter argument to mine is that BB is a faster paced game, the timer being a manifestation of that fact. I'm just offereing another way to look at this.
Personally, I really don't people who take a long time. I just watch a movie or something while I play and feel free to take equally as long. The only ones who bug me are those who take a long time but complain if you do too. |
