orcs because that Armor value 9 will prevent you from too many injurys.

Halflings, then you have an excuse for losing. Very Happy

Plus they're fun.

But yeah Orcs sound good if you want to start off with a serious team.

Humans for a perfectly allround team.

High Elves for the passing game without suffering too much from low AV or indeed Orcs for the bashier varients.

I'd say start with humans and see which side you like best. If you like passing and agile stuff; go for elves. If you find out that you prefer to bash a lot try Dwarfs or Orcs.

Well, I'm a beginner, and we played a training game with Grondis, who's a lot more experienced than I am. So, he told me that dwarves would be a good team for a beginner, 'cause if you make mistakes, they won't suffer that much because of Thick Skull. They also have Block (well, almost everyone) wich is the best skill in the game.

Dwarves can be a challenge to win with though and not winning any games for a long time can put people off permanently.

Human or orc are generally termed the best learner teams.
Orcs have high armour low speed so generally run the ball
Humans have less armour more speed and have better passing options.
Give them both a decent run in U and find what you prefer
Not Dwarves...The really low speed means you really can end up out of position, and thick skull isnt that useful.Start using them if you master the basic running game with orcs first.
Or just msg me on chat if you want to discuss anything, theories tactics line ups etc.

yes, humans or orcs are the obvious choices.. an interesting advantage is that these teams, esp the humans though, teaches you what's good about other teams ;P beginners who begin with skaven, elves or dwarves tend to get held back by the weaknesses of those teams, without having much possibility to use the strengths..

High elves are not easy at start... you need to know how to make a useful roster with expensive player...

I'd say norse is a nice starter team aswell. yes, they have AV7 but with block all around they're a solid starter team.
