No, I am no a liar.

I typed "Not bad my friend, not bad..." then I left my chair and started rolling.

Now I just stopped, and my bones hurt. Laughing

I must be a clairvoyant too. I predicted quite accurately the triple skulls my opponent rolled with his treeman. I enjoyed it a bit, and then went on winning the game. (with the little help from my friends that caused a riot) [no pun intented}

if the RNG isn't random, then it is predictable. if it is, then please tell us how to predict the forthcomming rolls.

Only play as a client and write a TSR to hook into the TCP/IP layer and moniter the socket for the incomming random number seed (Bit of testing and tial and error. Should be possible). From there just have the TSR roll a number of test rolls like a game setting up (Check the log file and you can see how many there are) and from then you should always know what the next roll will be. Way too much hassle for what it's worth but should be possible.

The problem has nothing to do with the overall distribution as far as I can see, but an abnormal distribution of results.
Eg, two consecutive, three dice blocks are identical.
Put that in your new algorithms and smoke it.

Collect data. Do a test on the standard deviation of consecutive rolls. Anything else you do is whining. Especially when there have been tests that "prove" the randomness of the generator. That's what scientists call "testing".

People saying "they have noticed things" who don't have the figures to back it up aren't testing stuff. They're emitting random sounds.

I can see that guy from the movie "Pi" just going to town on the FUMBBL generator, staring at strings of numbers and scores tickertaping across his wall, muttering to himself that if he can just crack the FUMBBL code he will be able to predict the stock market. And then discovers that Hassidic Jews INVENTED FUMBBL to crack the true name of God!

@annachie
then you would only know the rolls that have been generated ahead of time, but you wouldn't be able to predict what number will come. thus it will stay RANDOM because you wouldn't have any formula that says "depending on this and this factor, the number will be this". you would just be displacing the point to which you come into contact with the random number.

Are you suggesting that I drill a hole in my head and all this will stop?

/me weighs consequences...

The power of blind ego always amazes me.

That being said, there are times when I can predict the outcomes of rolls. I say to my opponent, "Roll double skull on your Big Guy!" and, approximately one time out of every thirty-six, he complies...
