When fouling in turn 16..
..better don't make up excuses. Go on and foul.

In this game my dwarves got the ref in BOTH halves. And I proceeded then to foul the cr*p off the opposing team (with not much devastating effects by the way... the casualties I did to them were all from blocks).

A total of 12 fouls on my part. I can easily see how this behaviour could have pissed off my opponent despite being "in the rules".

So here it comes turn 16. He fouls one of my longbeards and seriously injuries him. Believe it or not I found that absolutely understandable and was half-expecting some gloating on my opponents part.

Then I was told something like "Sorry, I didn't realize we were on turn 16".... (which I estimate has an 1-2% of chance of being the truth, given the kind of match).

This prompted some thought on my part.

- is fouling on turn 16 a lame thing in the game economy? Yes
- is fouling on turn 16 a good habit to have? No.
- does this make people that foul in turn 16 bad players or bad people? No. Doing a lame thing does not mean that you are a lame person. Lame things happens.
- does not having the habit of fouling on turn 16 mean that one must NEVER foul on turn 16? Never say never.
- is it necessary to justify a turn 16 foul? No. As long as you admit that it is unconsequential in the game, you don't have to explain why you do that. Usually the motives (frustration, sheer spite or - more simply - being Manbush) are evident enough.
- what is the best thing to say when you do a turn 16 foul? "Take THIS you wimp!" *sploosh!* "Muhahahahaha"

So when the day comes in which you are so frustrated that you NEED to do a T16 foul...well. Go on. Don't hide. And, remember:

ALWAYS gloat on a casualty.

P.S. obviously this is true for me, too... ^^
