A couple of weeks ago my undead team Flirty to the Bone made it to the final of my very first tournament, but fell short of the glory. I've been joining ranked tournaments more actively since then with several teams and again with the Flirters too.

They ended up in FUMBBL SMACK Sched PRO LI, my very first smack that I join overall. And once again the Flirters walked towards the final with their flirty ways :) This time however, the outcome of the final was different!

The final started with some double skulls for opponent coach Flix. The ballstripping wights halted the orcs' offence until near the end of the half there was an opportunity to break away with the ball for the Flirters. Count von Drakenborg had been playing quite well but failed a crucial dodge, hurting himself in the process but he healed up his boo boo in time for the second half. The Flirters had more succes scoring after the whistle, but with one big final effort the orcs equalised just before the final whistle. In the OT the Flirters immediately challenged the orcish ball carrier who seemed to be unable to move away. Flirters took over ball control and played out the rest of the time for a 2-1 victory \o/ My first tournament victory is in the bag :)

A little less good news is the fact that star player Mister Underworld 2008 aged a niggling after scoring the decisive td (once again). He will be replaced soon, the Mister Underworld 2009 contest is coming up soon anyway.

(And yes I know it's cheesy undead but when I first created the team I had no intention to play tournaments with them and I didn't know anything about their status at lower TR either :p Oh and the Count was not hired in every game! ^^)
