“No doubt a match that all fans of naked, bearfat-covered beserkers will remember, it was anyone's game right down to the final siren.

An early breakaway by Rimmersgard didn't save them as Nuffle's grace shone upon the Wild-Eyed opposition. A long and grinding game left the scores level at one all near the end of the second half, and many fans began to leave the stadium as the match was so clearly headed for a draw.

However, their resignation was premature as, in what many commentators have accurately described as 'a dodgy long bomb play', catcher Sven made an unlikely break, dodging nimbly past his opposition and launching himself down the field, only just reaching the endzone with two GFI's.

Thrower Lars, meanwhile, was caught by the opposition holding the ball deep in the other half. Heroically, he slipped past his opponent, sprinting for the halfway-line with two GFI's to launch the fateful long-bomb pass that would save the valiant Buggers so late in the game, leaving the stalwart Rimmersgarders with no other option than to bring a sense of justice for the Rimmersgard fans on the line of scrimmage.

The rest of the Buggers cracked opened the kegs, put their feet up and started the drinking deep in the backfield, laughing and taking bets as two Wild-Eyed linesmen were KO'd and Angerbotha the Ogre was beaten to the ground and repeatedly kicked in the head in a rules-violation of such bloodyminded severity that the entire Rimmersgard side would surely have been sent off the field by the ref had one been present.

The big surprise for this match was surely the miraculously low level of serious injury as these two legendary northern sides clashed with such brutal ferocity that one of the referees is reported to have commented "...by all that is holy I am surely entered unto Hell itself!". In his defence, the good ref was at that time surrounded by angry Rimmersgard fans, and was looking himself in the eye without the aid of a mirror.”
