“Gate was 88k and my winnings were 20k...<sigh>. Entire game played in the snow and with my 6 year old asking me questions about and making me read the computer game he was playing - "Daddy, blahblahblah. Hey did that guy get hurt? Blahblahblah."

1st half:

Norse receive and march, march, march down the pitch. Elves were unable to dodge effectively because everyone knows that elves are warm-weather creatures and snow slows their metabolism and reflexes down. I think I could have gotten a shot at a 2-die on the ballcarrier and maybe broken up the drive, but my blitzer slipped on his dodge. Shouts of "Ref, get some glasses!" were heard from the pro-elf partisans as his dirty player stained the pitch red with elf blood multiple times.

Tried to set up an unlikely (no rerolls left) 1-turn score with my mv9 catcher, but tried to blitz the catcher with sidestep (I glanced, saw he had dodge, looked no further, and felt really really dumb) instead of the unskilled lineman...0-1.

2nd half:

Sent some elves to receive to the left and set up the pocket to the right/center. Norse got aggressive and blanketed those two players. Elves sweep right and screen, next turn making a dodge and a gfi in the snow for the score. 1-1.

A bunch of elves returned from the casualty box, but was still down 1 on defense (that one being my kicker). Norse stack left and look to screen. My catcher makes some nutty elf moves and gets a 1-die on the ballcarrier (push), decides not to reroll it for fear of going crowdsurfing on a null result, and stuns himself dodging through traffic to get away. Norse continue to drive for the turn 7 score, 2-1, and set up to prevent any chance at the one-turn play. 2-1.

"Chuckle" moment of the game comes on turn 8 when the Ogre blitzed, rolled a double skull, and BH himself. :)

Postgame:

The unhappiness of earning only 20k is more than offset by the fact that no one was seriously injured. Elves were stack one on top of another in the KO box and only 3 BH's - very fortunate with the injury rolls this game.”
