“Wow, what a game. At one point I was up 2-0 and thought the game couldn't end fast enough. Then Dom scores, so I go into stall-mode with 3 turns left. I have what I think to be a solid cage protecting the ball carrier and Dom proceeds to burst the cage, pick up the ball, and score in what was the most lucky/ridiculous turn ever. Now 2-2, we went into OT, and I had a feeling at that point victory was not to be mine. I came close to scoring, but crowdpushes and Dom's mean mummies put enough of my guys in the injured/reserve boxes to clear the field for his own march toward the endzone. A great, fun match, with ups & downs had by both sides. Cheers to Dom for the win, and good luck to him in the rest of the XFL.”
We started without thinking about a good tactic against Disgruntled Corpses.
That was a big fault, I couldn't reach their ST 6 Mummy good enough (blocked my own way), therefore couldn't foul her and failed to do any injuries in the 1st turn.
In the following turns, the Disgruntled Corpses did some KO's and good blocks - the Iron Man on the Mummy helped to avoid doing any Blocks against her.
With a minor tactical failure in turn 2 (Ghoul put next to a rookie Wight, he was blocked then but without POW), he rolled the POW in the next turn, causing a Stunned and my more agile players trapped around the whole field.
The luck standings were 41 - 75% for Disgruntled Corpses there.
Finally they threw a Long Pass to a Skeleton, which he catched and made a touchdown then.
We could score 1:1 in our 4th turn.
Certain to stop them to score any more touchdowns, we started on defense. And we were true, because the Undead didn't even try to score for the last 4 turns. They build up a 6 players cage at the late td-zone.
I threw all I could forward, going for it and the very small chance to break even. A Mummy Cage without Leap nor AG4 etc. is not breakable, so we decided to simply put the next player in it (a Wight with Tackle), rerolled Dodge - 6 - blitz - POW!
The ball bounced unlucky, which means it was within two tackle zones, but in directly way to the scoring zone.
So get in there, pick it up (5, 5) and get out there with two Go For It's (4, 3, 2, 2).
The result after 16 turns: 2-2
We started on defence and did our standard formation, which is quite offensive.
As expected, the Undeads were struggling and dodging to get closer to their goal, but with not so much effort, we got the ball of the Ghoul and hoped for a Turnover at the next turn for them.
It came (Dodge without Reroll worked but Pick Up with Sure Hands failed.
Having 2 rerolls left and more players around the ball, we made it.
It was a very hard and thrilling game.
