SWL Season XVIII - Premier League - Round 2

Unfortunately, my connection died in the second half, so the replay is broken - sorry guys :-(

With Balljuggler out for the match, and Ballnasher killed by the norsemen, the Fossils were not in the best shape they could have been. Especially with just two tacklers. That said, I've never been one to underestimate what a Lizardmen team can do - they're so damn fast it's hard to keep them away from the ball.

The first half saw some poor luck early on - for both teams. Knee Snappa was send off on the first turn foul attempt (KO though, so it wasn't all bad). Then the Fossils failed their first roll of the dice (3+ dodge), giving an opportunity to surf two skinks (one of them had ST3 too!). The ball was in our end-zone, so when the double skulls came up on the attempted crowd-push, things looked dire, but the fossils responded in turn by failing to pick up the ball (3+), so eventually, we did manage to secure it. Almost leaving it too late, it fell to the star thrower and catcher (Da Flinga and Bone Krasha) to make a fast passing play, resulting in a touchdown in turn 8.

With some poor KO rolls, the Fossils were getting seriously low on numbers in the second half, and surrounded, were forced to attempt a touchdown in turn 3. The failed GFI in the end-zone left them in trouble, and once the ball was secure, there was little they could do to prevent a second touchdown.

There were just a couple of turns left, in which either team had the possibility of a touchdown, but the Fossils hung back to protect themselves, and the game ended with a score of 2-0.

------------------- Twahnlow Votes -------------------
3 pts - #1 Erool III
I'm pretty sure it was Erool that did the dirty work - dodging into zones to make a 1d hit on the ball carrier, and just enough to knock her down. This fellow came a little too close to stopping us from scoring a touchdown at all in the first half. (PS: if it wan't him, let me know Arta, the guy that did is definitely deserves the votes).

2 pts - #10 Ballripper
He came so damn close to scoring... lucky for us, there always seemed to be something lurking in the end zone to stop him (what it was, nobody knows)... Maybe there was blackmail involved.

1 pt - #15 Drysd
How does a Kroxigor get a vote with just 5 blocks, and no cas? By sacking the ball carrier, that how. Not enough support unfortunately, so where was no one to capitalise on the loose ball. With ST5 and break-tackle, he was one player we had to be careful of all match.

#11 Ballroaster – Smashed Knee (NI)
Game 49 – SWL 18, Round 2

Well the Premier honeymoon is over for the Fossils after just one game. Coach Laviak and his girls seemed to have the lizards on a string as they furiously ran around in circles trying to lay a paw on the green zons. Perhaps it had something to do with unfulfilled dreams following a rumour about girls serving cup-cakes that circulated through the Fossils camp earlier in the week? But then, perhaps it was just coach ArtaXerxes being off the boil. Well played coach Laviak.

Like all games, this one was full of luck, both bad and good. The luck counter before the restart was much lower for both teams than what is shown above. Still, the WFWO bounced back well from bad luck and maximised the score with the good, while the Fossils showed flare and dash in periods of little consequence to the game and bumbled the big moves. Coach Arta will be looking for more tactical awareness and less pointless showing off from his players next game.

Twahnlows:
3 votes - Bone Krasha for a complete and well rounded game as shown in the game stats. She's a true star and offensive dynamo with St4 blodge, annoying sidestep and ball handling skills to boot.

2 votes - Back Breaka was in defense what Bone Krasha was in offense (without all the bells and whistles). Her St4 tackle made it hard to protect the skinks and kept them from loitering too close to the Orks endzone.

1 vote - Loony Tossa with the 2+Ag and 1+Ma was a constant game breaker threat as she moved the ball out of the WFWO defensive half. While we hit her hard, she wouldn't break, and kept dodging away from the sidelines when we pushed her close.
