“Game 51 – SWL 18 Round 4

Star Erool III let himself and the side down this game, spending a big night out with everybody's mate, Morley. The big lad spent the whole game (5 kick-offs) out the back over the trench instead on in the middle of the ruck. The other thing not quite above board was Pumpkinhead's knuckdusters that gave Ballspinner a Groin Sprain.

The Aberration Theatre received the first kick and had little trouble scoring with Groth Paleflesh's gathering and running ability. The reply by the Fossils was a lot harder work, with the Aberration Theatre getting the jump on the lizards with a blitz. A cage in the middle of the field protected the ball for a moment, but a daring run was required by Balltoaster to score. The Aberration Theatre had 2 turns to score a second before half time, but a failed go-for-it by Groth Paleflesh allowed Balljuggler to pounce and score right on half time. The play of the day by Mork Blackhelm was in amongst it all with a 5 dodge run, each into a tacklezone, the last 2 GFI as well. Nice elf.

The second half saw the Fossils receive the kick but justbob pulled off a perfect defence. Advancement of the ball was slow, then it went loose thanks again to that stipball elf Mork Blackhelm. The ball was regathered by Ballkicker, just to have the AT's other star Jonnie Charisma Jr blitz it loose. More pick-ups, more drops, but eventually the Fossils held the ball and with some fortunate ball passing Balltoaster ran in a quick third. The skinks kept breaking throughout, and so did Vugdish II (thanks to Jonnie Charisma Jr of course) but thankfully the apoth was on his game and kept him on the field.

A good game where the stronger team eventually won through. Well done justbob on making it hard work.
