#8 Shackle Dash – Smashed Knee (NI)
“A great game where every play was suspenseful!
After kicking the ball to the humans, the skaven managed to free the ball up early. However, despite the Rats best efforts, the Destroyers retrieved the ball and needed just a single go for it for the first score of the game.
Unfortunately for them, fate intervened and the Destroyer catcher fell as he attempted for the end zone. The ball then bounced to a skaven fan who threw the ball as close to the nearby Rats as he could. With the fans help, the Rats were then able to score a defensive touchdown to finish the first half.
With the beginning of the second half, the Destroyers came back with avengence. They capitalized on a skaven fumbbl and scored a quick defensive touchdown to tie it up! Simultaneously, they alsso fractured the leg of Black Scamper the Storm Vermin as he was helped into a human section of the crowd.
From here things seemed to be going the wrong way for the Rats. Numerous players were knocked over and they either had to score quickly or not score at all.
Black Scamper had the ball, three Destroyers bearing down on him. But even in the extreme glare of the very sunny day, he noticed Gutterstern in the endzone. A long bomb later and the Rats were in the lead!
From there, the game was merely trivial as the time ran out.
It was a good game against a good player and I had a great time.

The tragedy (besides the loss) was seeing Krank fall flat on his face when in the clear and making a single GFI that would have put WD up by one late in the first half. As it turned out TTR retrieved the spilt ball and moved it all the way to go one up at the break.
The 2nd half was a brusing afair with TTR losing a number of players. The play see-sawed for a bit but after some solid defense Werner was able to pickup the ball and run from halfway for the TD.
Couple turns to go and the play of the day definitely goes to Nipper Scramblehuck the TTR thrower. His team depleted he headed left then ran right behind his defensive screen looking for an opening. A foul by one of the WD lineman saw him sent off and left Gutterstern free to sneak into the end zone. Facing a wall of WD players Nipper hugged the sideline and threw a long pass over the hapless defenders heads for a great TD.
