NWL Season iiiii Veteran Division Action

As I endlessly complain about this team being cursed it continues to be a self-fulfilling prophesy! Doomed by my own negativity the elves of AAA trudge ever on. Bac seemed to take my complaints as they were intended... humorous self-deprecation (and not out and out whining) as the Armada suffered indignity after indignity. As usual.

Somehow my 16 man roster last game landed me 11 fieldable players this game. Such is the plight of the elf. The seriously affronted Fleaflicker girls (incensed by the ubiquitous overpowering stench of elven hairspray) tore into the hapless Armada. My early offensive attack was stymied at every turn and the girls managed a nice defensive TD.

With numbers dwindling the outgunned elves did manage an unlikely ball strip and break-away in the second half... with delusions of somehow managing a tie an ill-fated double 1 ruined even that meager effort and the Flickers closed in for the coup d' grace.

Very well played by Bacillen. I take a small measure of comfort knowing that he spent the cash on Zara who was unneeded and spent most of the game as an overpriced spectator!

Good luck rest of the season, Bac!

Consumed by a fit of girly pique at the Armada's "tarty hairdos" and "richy bitchy kit" (read: high price looks the Flickers would kill for), the Flickers opened this match in good spirit by shutting down the impressive Armada offence and stealing a defensive TD to go into the half with a 1-0 lead, possession and the numerical advantage.

Though honestly it wasn't so much the Flickers defensive effort as a very poor day at the office for the Armada offence. But once on D, AAA started to show why they got that middle 'A'. The resulting scrap very nearly ended with a late equaliser until Pvt. Wladislaw's mazy run through the Flicker lines was finally ended, allowing a 2nd scoring chance for the girls who didn't dissapoint their fan(s).
