The Catchy got mauled by one of my ork teams not long ago and the Cheerful Dead crew thought they would give the humans a try as well.

They started out well and managed to score an early TD, as well as put the ogre out of commision with one of the mummies. The humans had bribed the ref, but seemed a decent type of players and didn't use it, even if the ref was actually cheering them on to foul. Instead they focused on the match and managed to tie the match up before the half break.

In the 2nd half the undead pirates were on the defense and they allready had some concerns that the match might slip out of their hands. They got a blitz on the kickoff, but couldn't really get much out of it. The humans ran along the right flank and at one point the offensive group looked very close to being boxed in and crowd surfed, but they managed to dodge and block their way out of the trap.

They soon reorganized and pushed for the end zone line, this time getting through the drawn out defensive line of the undead. The ghouls were on the heels of the blitzer, but he managed to hand the ball off to the catcher, who ran in 2-1 for Catchy.

Although their coach lost hope the Cheerful Deads didn't, and immediately on the kick-off the ghouls lunged for the end zone line. The humans did the best they could to cut them off, but through a blitz and some dodges they could run in the equalizer in the 7th turn.

Here I did a typical noob mistake and assumed the match was over and put up a rather wide LOS line to give myself a chance to bash a bit in my 8th turn. Instead I paraded up a line for Ludovicious to go for a one turner. The kick-off was bad, which enabled him to put the balls in the hand of the runner, and a series of blocks pushed him towards range to sprint in the winning TD. All the work was for nothing though, as the catcher got so confuzed by being chain pushed by a bunch of zombie bodies that he fell to the ground when it was time to do the running.

A bitter end for Ludo, who has a victory to claim after the dice rape he got by my orks, but a tie feels like a rather fair result since both teams fought hard and well. Thanks for the match! Looking forward to playing you again :)
