“Game 23

An early TD by the Necromantic team put Schola on the back foot early. Some bad positioning kept letting the werewolves (both with +AG, gah!) in at the ball carrier, resulting in Schola being unable to even the score by half time.

A picture perfect Chaos drive saw several opponents hurt and the ball in the endzone in 3 turns in the second half. Early in the turn the ghould Deardry fell over trying to get into position, leaving a blitz open on the ball carrier. A few turns of pushing and shoving, including some injuries, saw the opportunity for Schola to take the ball and get ahead. An unfortunate double skulls from the minotaur Vis saw the perfect opportunity for the Groupies to snatch the ball and take the lead. A failed ball pickup later, and Schola was scrambling at the ball, trying to get as many tacklezones on it as possible, it now being impossible for them to win the game. They got 3 TZ onto the ball, desperately hoping that was enough. The AG5 werewolf Fluffy sprang to his feet, dodge into 1 TZ then out of it, pickup the ball in 2 TZ (I was really worried by now) then FAIL to dodge out into the clear for the pass to the other werewolf!

This was the closest game I have ever played, with both teams having bad luck at the worst of times.
