#13 Unification Church – Smashed Knee (NI)
“Luckily for the Slaughterizers, coach Russo was able to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. A dominating first half by the Greenos left a pair of zombies on the pitch. One mummy returned for the second half, and we were able to field 10 players. The Greens were left shorthanded, with only 11 players as Dave the Rave missed the match because It Wasn't Him.
The Senseless ones were able to march down the pitch in the second half, scoring the tying td in turn 14. With coach tz happy to score a draw in the match, the defense lined up in a prevent defense, which the coach realized too late meant he could not attempt to win. Nuffle made up for the coaching error by letting the Undeads storm the offense before the kick, in a mad-dog blitz. With ghouls spread around the field, and the offensive line (what was left of them after a pair of RIPs and Squidge the Midge being sent off by the ref) tied up by thoughtless zombies, coach tz saw his team in a position to pull out an improbably win.
In a flurry of action, the orcs had the ball pretty well sealed up, leaving one option to try to score the win - a single die blitz to knock the ball free. It worked. the ball bounces perfectly to the ground, safe from the Green tackle zones. Solaire was able to scoot in, grab the ball, and gfi to pass to Hare Krishnas for the decider.
After such a terrible first half, and regen working none out of five times, things looked hopeless for the Slaughter, but the team was able to pull together for a very, very memorable match against the might of the SCUM stable.
Great game Russo, that was a lot of fun. I'll be looking forward to killing more orcs next time!”

After going 1-0 up at half time following an awesome near-clearance by the Orcs (only 2 Undead left), my oppo had a flash of luck with a blitz move that allowed him back into the game.
The fact he then killed 3 players (ok one saved) and no BH and SI was staggering and the Orcs crumbled to lose in the last turn to a good bit of gambing by my brave opponant.
Well done and I will remember this game forever!!! Grudges are made of this stuff :evil:”
