“A game of inches...the first half had the fairies receiving. The first 4 attempts to pick up the ball all failed and chewed through the last of the team RRs as well. The way forward was cleared however, Jeremiah Trotter blitzed 4 spaces to smash a black orc blocker - badly hurt him. However, the ball carrier was marked around midfield and needed one dodge to get into scoring position, but failed the dodge and the ball went out of bounds. The orcs nearly made enough amazing rolls to score, but failed the outlet pass and the half ended 0-0. The orcs had the ball to open the second half and the orc thrower dodged away from Jeremiah Trotter to complete a pass to Brandon Lloyd. 3 pixies converged on Lloyd trying to get a 2d blitz on him, but the second pixie failed its dodge and the orcs scored to go up 1-0. However, Trotter was not done...two turns later, it was set up and Trotter lofted a newbie Brownie into the air with the ball...he staggered (used RR) but came down on his feet and scooted into the endzone to tie the game.
Still plenty of time remained and wise money was on the orcs...but then things fell apart for the orcs. Perfect defense put Trotter near the ball and the other trees to tie up the bulk of the orcs. The orcs grabbed the ball, but then failed the hand off to the thrower and so it was on the ground. Trotter blitzed - knocked down the orc infront of him and sprinted towards the ball to mark it. 4 hyp. gazes later, the ball was wide open and just needed 1 dodge and pickup and the fairies would be in control...but the dodge failed. The orcs had another chance - knocking the fairies around they tried a hard pickup of the ball...failed and not only that, but the ball squirted free - away from everyone. J.J. Outlaw made a dodge...picked up the ball...then stumbled (used RR) but crossed the goalline for the 2-1 victory!
Some real tough dice for the orcs at the end of the game...thanks for the game and well played mate!”
