“SWL Season XXI - Southside Stone Smashers Conference League - Round 2

An unusual matchup this one. When it comes to raw strength, Skye's Tainted are not going to find too many teams that can match them (or even come close to matching them). We did have a couple of reserves, but with so much ST4 on the team, and loads of claw too boot, we were expecting to take a few cas this match (and we did at that). On the other hand, with 10 blodgers on the team, against just one tackler, it was entirely plausible that we'd be able to keep the cas count down.

Kicking first up, we sent the ball deep, and the two AG4 chaos warriors (Rorius and Usal) moved back to recover it. They were not able to form a secure cage, however, and although it was a 2d against block, Leg Breaka showed exactly what she's made of by stepping up to the challenge, taking the ball right out of Rorius' hands. Then, despite being surrounded, she somehow managed to keep her feet through 12 block dice, and finally dodged her way to freedom!

Well, almost to freedom ... unfortunately, she ended up surrounded once again, and this time, Master Usal managed to knock her out cold. Running out of time, Eagle police officer had to attempt a passing play, and unsupported by his teammates, he failed leaving an opportunity for Hed Splitta to make the second spectacular play of the match, throwing a Long Pass to Big Skora, who ran the touchdown in right on the buzzer.

Half time score: 1-0

The second half saw us starting to become rather outnumbered, and we were forced to make a lot of risky dodges. Unfortunately for Joe, it seemed that we couldn't fail them, and even though he had a couple of opportunities to make blitzes on the ball carrier, both times some bad luck saw his players fall flat on their faces. It really seemed that Big Skora could do no wrong as she strode up the pitch for a touchdown in turn 5.

Deciding that it was far too late for the chaos to catch up, we moved into preservation mode, and although they had no trouble scoring a consolation touchdown, it was too late to make a difference, and so, with the match coming to a close, we were still in the lead with very little in the way of lasting damage.

For finally knocking out the seemingly unstoppable Leg Breaka. Oh, and he also contributed to the consolation touchdown by passing the ball up to KFC Chicken, who handed the ball over to Springvale Pork Rolls.

An early cas on Head Stompa kept her out of the game. Definitely helped them out in the strength department (not that they really needed it). Tackle made him a target for me, and I count myself lucky that he only got the one cas in.

Taking out another of our players with guard was a plus in the first half. Unfortunately, he also forgot to wait for help from his teammates, and cost them a TD in the first half.”
