“Lustrian Challenge Qualifier V -Round Three.
Handicaps for Bandola Rahta: Virus (second time this qualifier) -7348 Block Surehands Tackle beastman out (he's so fired after the tourney), and Doom and Gloom (two rerolls first half). Words hired a Wizard, Bandola Rahta freebooted two lineelves.
Words receive, throw some abyssmal blocks and have one of their two DPs banned on a stun-foul. Needless to say, things could have started better. First half was sweaty, with Bandola Rathas 8357 Block Mblow Leap getting a 1d block on the ballkeeper and the elves generally giving me a hard time. However, even though Words made few casualties, they made plenty of KOs to compensate for this, and in the end scored safely in turn 8. Melmoth made a OTS with his cursed witch, and made it look easy to boot! 1-1 after first half.
Second half, the elves score in turn two, making me a very happy Chaos Coach for giving me lots of time to even the score. The KOs from the first half had come back, but Words once again pounded the elves into the KO box, making a RIP on a freebooter along the way. However, in turn 16 Melmoth's cursed witch made her signature Death Move (leap into the cage, -2dblock against the ballkeeper, POW/POW-push) once again, like she had against Qaz two games earlier. Fortunately for Words, the scatter was good for them and they managed to score, BH-ing the other freebooter with a crowdpush in the process.
Overtime: Words start with 11 players, no DPs but otherwise intact, and two rerolls. Bandola Rahta start with 10 players, their ST4 blodge blitzer starying out; one reroll and one DP. Words receive.
Words made a couple of KOs, and the witch getting KOd on a gfi. With the numerical superiority this gave Words, and the only leap on the opposing team out, Words had a relatively easy way to the endzone, scoring in the last turn. The witch stayed out, and a quad pow/block result prevented the OTS. Victory to Words!
I'd say three dicerolls won me the game: Me receiveing in OT, the failed GFI that KO'd the witch, and the failed KO-roll that kept her out in the last drive. Was a tight game, especially the first half, and I had a lot of fun against a fine coach that I'll gladly face again anytime!

I enjoyed this game a lot. My oppo played very well and caged like a pro schould do. So he gave me a hard time stealing the ball. It was a close game in the end with OT and the "business as usual" Fast Elfs TDs and delaying Chaos-TDs. In the end the game was decided by just little things like the coin tosses and the KOs but thats just how the game goes. Polite and top skilled opponent I wish you good luck for the Main Draw;-) ”
