#6 Wineanspirix – Serious Concussion (-AV)
Game 3, Season XXI

We Fink Wer Orks is an imposing looking side with a fine pedigree so we weren't confident going in. Outnumbered in the tackling department we weren't expecting to knock many over, and so it proved. Thankfully, though they knocked us down more often, it was without great damage. The first half was an exercise in patience and although we got into a couple of tricky situations, our agility held up and we managed to wriggle free. We had to work hard for our late 1st half TD but Justforkix was up to the passing play.

A crowd invasion on the restart meant an easy score for the Orks and they elected to go for a win by not stalling.
Our wining score was similar to the first, needing a long pass and some deft dodging to pull it off. Our luck held and we scapped in for an unexpected win, first of the season.

Just to spoil the party Wineanspirix got niggled on a LOS block at the end.

Twahnlows

3 Points. Head Splitta. Sidestepping DT was always annoying and constantly marking players causing unwanted headaches. No stats to prove it but I had to play around her all game.

2 Points. Back Breaka. Look at her stats! Scared the beejeebus out of me and set up a lot of the Orks plays or disrupted mine.

1 Point. Roxy Lobba for the TD.

SWL Season XXI - Southside Stone Smashers Conference League - Round 3

The first half saw us kicking to the elves, who played a stalling game with some risk to be sure. We had two shots at the ball carrier, both of which failed (great work by Drinklikafix getting out of what looked like a nasty bind). Unfortunately, it also seemed that we couldn't do even the slightest bit of damage to the elves either - an Knee Snappa got herself sent off after two pathetic fouls that didn't do the slightest bit of damage (actually one was a turn 8 KO, but Fulliautomatix came back the following drive).

In the end, the elves got an easy touchdown thanks to their awesome thrower (who knocked Hed Splitta down without even touching her), and some well practiced stalling.

Half time score: 0-1

In the second half, seeing just how close we'd come to actually preventing a touchdown in the first, we took advantage of a pitch invasion, and scored fairly quickly. It was obvious that this would most likely result in a win or a loss (since we hadn't been able to stop them stalling, a loss seemed probable).

Some poor ball handling on the part of the high elves saw us with some good shots at the ball, however, it wasn't quite enough to pull things through (in hindsight, I should have played it safe when the ball went down, and put multiple TZs on it instead of attempting a pick-up).

Full time score: 1-2

------------------- Twahnlow Votes -------------------

3 pts - #12 Justforkix
Critical in both of the team's touchdowns, this thrower seemed pretty much unstoppable. We knew from the start that he was going to be a threat, but never got a decent shot at taking him out.

2 pts - #5 Fulliautomatix
The elves only tackler, Fulliautomatix had his work cut out for him. He painted a nice big target on his chest, which we foolishly went for, and prepared as he was, he survived admirably (even if he wasn't *that* critical in the gameplay).

1 pt - #10 Drinklikafix
For getting the ball out of a sticky bind in the first half, that could certainly have cost the Gauls the game.
