“A good match to be a Skaven player.

The first half started with the Elfes kicking, and the Lightnings immediately put into place their new offensive plan. Dangerous Beans grabbed the ball and fell back toward his own endzone, while Sardines ran around one flank and the rest of the team pushed into the other. Next, once the offensive players were in position, while Dangerous Beans moved back toward the action and hurled the ball to Peaches. Unfortunately, that's where it all went wrong, as Peaches failed to catch the ball, leaving the Lightnings' offence stalled and the ball dangerously loose. Fortunately for the Lightnings, the poor play wasn't only coming from them. Phiheed Charsia, the Elfes' star Wardancer, was tripped while trying to dodge by Hamnpork, and that gave the Lightnings a second chance to score their touchdown, pausing only to apply a firm boot to the downed Wardancer.

The Elfes response played out in a very similar way. The key pass was fumbled, leaving the ball loose, but the Lightnings didn't quite manage to make use of the ball before the Elfes tracked back to retrieve it. From there, the Wood Elves took their time in scoring, leaving the scores level.

The second half was a fast-moving affair, and it started with the Elfes putting the ball in the hands of their side-stepping Wardancer, Phiheed Charsia . Charsia felt safe given his fast footwork, but he had reckoned without the aggression of the Lightnings, who surrounded the Elf and shoved him into the crowd, the mass of players leaving him no room for fancy footwork. The ball out of the crowd and into the centre of the pitch, from where Darktan was able to grab it and hand-off to Peaches, who made the run for the touchdown.

The next Elfes kick-off was greeted with a huge pitch invasion, as the Lightnings' fans rushed onto the pitch to celebrate the comeback score. They trampled their way through the Elfes' half to get to their heroes, stunning seven! Play continued during all this, and so Nourishing and Peaches quickly closed Tassith Darleena. The thrower broke clear and lobbed the ball to a teammate, but that only moved it closer to the bulk of the Lightnings' strength, and Vadar Ihtasdal was quickly mobbed by the Skaven. Even then, the ball wasn't secure, and the Elfes made another attempt to regain possession. This time, the pass didn't work out, and the Lightnings made the most of their turnover to touch the ball down.

The next Elfes drive resulted in another touchdown for the Lightnings, as Darktan's ability to loosen the grip of ball-carriers and some poor handling from the Elfes gave the Lightnings possession deep in their own half. Finding herself in possession, and keen to avoid the attention of the Elfes, Peaches muttered a prayer to the Horned Rat and hurled the ball half of the length of the pitch, hoping against hope that the pass would find the hands of the goalhanging Nourishing. Amazingly, the pass flew true and was caught, giving Nourishing her second touchdown of the match.

From there, the match was over. Some cunning pushing from the Elfes allowed them to score a fast touchdown to reduce their deficit, but they were still 2 in arrears and so the match finished at 4-2 to the Lightnings.”
