Da Rippas pull through on a coin-toss! Playing WE can be so swingy...
Variation received first, but couldn't get the start that they wanted. Da Rippas pressured hard, and the elves rolled a lot of ones. Suddenly the ball was in the hands of Gruur, where it would remain the entire half. With the ball safe, da Rippas took the elves apart and got both Wardancers out. With 1-0 at half-time, it looked extremely good for the 2nd half...
But Gruur failed the first pick-up! The elves picked up instead, threw it far away and elf-stalled easily to score in T5. On the next offense there was a pitch-invasion, leaving no Rippas player in range to pick up the ball. It was deemed to risky to go for the hand-off-dodge-pass play that was available in the last turn, as a dropped ball somewhere would let the WE score easily, so da Rippas just protected the ball for OT.
Variation received in OT, and played another good elf-stall to score in T5 (Even if they were in trouble when Komog blitzed the ball-carrier down. Jordell got them out however.) By then there were very few elves left however, not enough to stop da Rippas from scoring back easily in 3 turns. 2-2 at full time and da Rippas go through.
