"When Siggi caught the scatter and broke free I was thinking: This has happened before. It can happen again. It was a total deja vue of when we beat InterRatzionale against all odds. And I wasn't the only one feeling history repeat itself in an even grander style. The whole stadium roared. Then Siggi broke free and hit his afterburner. Just a minute longer and we would have been up 2-0 at the halftime whistle and it could have been all over and so sweet."
---Ted de Boar, Borussia Salzmund Keeper

"I remember the game against the rats. It was one of my first and scoring a touchdown there is, to this day and always will be, my most treasured memory. I'm only sad I wasn't able to contribute to the scoreline this time around. But I did my work. I have got blood on my hands to prove it. But it didn't discourage the Reavers. Didn't discourage them at all."
---Maddin Armedick, Borussia Salzmund Defender

"They were close to giving up around halftime, though. We had them against the wall..."
---Matt Hummel, Borussia Salzmund Defender

"... but then we failed to put them through the wall. They fought back and fought back hard and unstoppable. Today proved once again that, on our best day, we can take on any team in the league. But the Bristol Reavers proved that, even on one of their worst days, they still have the raw talent and desire to come out ahead. You can't help but respect that."
---Manni Burgsboller, Borussia Salzmund Forward

"As team captain of the Borussia I'd like to say it has been an honour to go up against the Premiereship champion and take them into overtime. Now we'll go into our next season with heads held high and broad shoulders as if we had just won our biggest and best and most important game yet. Because the truth is, we came awfully close. In the end we ran out of steam, having played so far above our limits the whole ninety minutes, that there was nothing left to give for overtime. We wish Bristol good fortune in the cup and look forward to them going all the way."
---Juergen Keiler, Borussia Salzmund Defender

"Not meaning to ruin the niceties, but where do I get a deal like The Duke's? He sits out the game and, sure, the fans complain and the coach critisizes him for it, but in the end he still gets the recognition and the fame and gets voted Man of the Match. I mean, sure it's lazy to sit out a game, but if you still get MVP why should you play? I want a Duke clause in my contract, too!"
---Basi Tralala, Borussia Salzmund Defender

"And you'll get it as soon as you grow as strong as a Black Orc and as agile as a mutated elf. That is to say, get used to doing dirty work on the pitch every damn game of the season and one die dying an unmourned death."
---Thomas Hasel, Borussia Salzmund Midfielder

#7 David Hillier – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#7 David Hillier – Smashed Knee (NI)
OBBA Cup Round 1

I say this with no disrespect to my Premiership opponents, but this was the hardest game we've played this season. Before the game we lost our Troll (MNG), our kicker/thrower (Wasn't me), and The Duke (niggle), so we lined up with 10 orcs and some of them noobs.

Borussia is a strong human side with lots of GD and some useful blitzers. The first half they made us pay, and with the help of two crucial 1 rr 1's (both by my AG4 blitzer Cureton), the led 1-0 at the half.

The second half we were down to 9 orcs (vs 14 humans) as Trollope had been BH and we'd already used our Apoc in a SI (niggle). This half was tight and hard, and after pushing 3 humans into the crowd (all stuns) through a risky sideline bait move, we managed to score in t16 to take it to OT.

OT, 11 humans vs 8 orcs. 1 orc RR vs 4 human. Not looking good.

Then we got the ball from the coin toss, and had a great 1st turn when we ko-ed 2 humans and saw another taken out by a rock. 8 v 8. Now we had a chance and the grind looked like a good plan. (vs 11 we were going to try to score quickly then hope for a lucky coin toss after the humans made it 2-2). The orcs, 8 v 8, grind up the pitch and win 2-1 with a t24 td.

The only real downside, aside from the damage to my stomach ulcer from the stress, was the niggle to my ag4 dp on the very last block of the game. Oh well, Hillier's career comes to an end but the team battles on.

Great game Sheldon, and well played.

Oh, the The Duke, who spent the game sipping martinis, was still voted MVP. Lazy overpaid git.
