“Read in Altdorf Today, Sport Section.
"Today a crowd of 87 000 Blood Bowl fans gathered in the Black Pitch, one of the most ancient Blood Bowl pitch to watch Precinct 10 play their first game for 3 months or so.
They were playing vs Dodgy Dental Deviants, an experienced Nurgle's Rotters team strong with 57 games.
It came quickly clear that the rusty Humans couldn't handle the challenge and spent most of their time struggling to catch up with the Rotters.
As a proof of their bad shape the Blitzer Girl 1 got KO very early in the game but could never recover and help her teammates. As i write this, the rumor says she's still out of focus and drooling when she tries to speak.
Early 2nd half, after the Humans scored their first touchdown the score was 1-1.
Despite a welcome pitch invasion giving an interesting advantage to the Humans, the Rotters proved they can as well block and fight as run and pass the ball.
The score was 2-1 for the Rotters 2 turns from the end.
In the last minute and despite the pouring rain which just started, the Humans had a good chance to tie the score but Coach tomfromparis made a rookie mistake using a ReRoll for a block when it was clear he should have saved it for Catcher Micro-Maid's dodge.
Asked about this mistake, Coach tomfromparis answers:
- Thanks for asking, Cherry, this was indeed a silly mistake: i gotta say i was annoyed by the Beast's tentacles and focused on that. The first block roll gave a push which was enough to free Micro-Maid from the grasp of the Beast but i ordered a ReRoll hoping for a pow so Maid would only have to run to score and tie. I didn't pay attention to the tackling Beastman i was pushing and when Maid tried to dodge he managed to tackle her with skill.
Asked about the team in general his answer was:
- The Precinct took a long holiday during which i focused on other teams. They were so rusty when they came to play today that they couldn't handle the fight nor threaten Coach Tubby's boys. Our blocks and moves were poor, and if you ask me about the strategy, i won't say it was bad, i'll just say there was none. I just hope we'll get back in shape soon, or this team may prove it hasn't got what it takes to become one day an interesting challenger in a Major Tournament.
As for us, BloodBowl fans working in Altdorf Today, we wish both coaches good luck for the future and hope to see a rematch soon.
