“SWL Season 27: Gone's Slipper Conference League- Game 3

Wow. The third game for the season, and the second of a wednesday night double-header turned out to be another nailbiter.

The Vermin opened with a fairly uneventful blitz as we kicked off, cheerful at having Karl Benz Back from injury. This lasted about 30 seconds before he was back on the wounded list, an effort that somehow earned him the MVP award. The Bandits coughed up the ball with an early turnover, Manfred scooped it up and handed it Wilhelm, who did the rest. 1-0.

The Bandits recieved again, this time secoured the ball, trundled it down field, KOing Manfred along the way, and after some scrappy play from both sides with critical failures at important times, the scores were tied. 1-1.

The second half saw the Vermin recieve, Manfred connect to Wilhelm, touchdown. 2-1. The Bandits then recieved, and answered, 2-2. Kick, recieve, survive a Blitz, Manfed, Wilhelm, 3-2.

With ball in hand, the Bandits tried desperately to tie up the scores with times running out, but the pressure was too much. Lineman Terry found himself in the clear, the in goal area ahead of him, but tripped over his own feet as the final siren sounded. Final score 3-2, and another tight lucky win for the Vermin,
