“The rats steal a win in a tight game they stood every chance of losing.

The orcs have a player sent off in turn 1, and spend the first half with much of the ball, falling a pace short of the skaven TD zone at the end of the half.

The second half is pretty one-sided. Short of players and bruised and battered, the skaven throw themselves into the orcs' tackle zones to slow down the advance. It all turns on its head after an accurately passed TD ball is dropped on a 3+ with a reroll. In the following two turns, the rats snatch the ball and head in for a TD. 1-0...

In the remaining four turns, the orcs smash their way through the skaven line, leaving themselves five squares from the rat's line with one turn remaining. Some brave dodging leaves the rats with two players in the way.

It all turns on it's head when the orcs fail to get an explosion on a 3-dice block to put a gutter runner into the crowd. The AG4 thrower is forced to make a dodge, but stumbles as the gutter runner makes a desperate diving tackle.

As the ball drops to the floor on the skaven touchline in the orc's final turn, the last few remaining rats put together some good numbers to run in for a TD.

As the rats head off for some warpstone beer to celebrate, the orc team coach calls in his players for a big TT. Many more games like that, and he'll be making changes. The orc team coach can't help but scratch his head, wondering how a match that was there to win - and at least draw - ended so badly...”
